Olga Sherer finally gets the attention she deserves. It's been a long time we've noticed her and we have followed carefully every step in her career. Chanel shows, Amica covers and other highlights. Then came this Vogue Italia's models supplement featuring her after all those years waiting for her moment. A beautiful editorial by Greg Kadel. We thought that everything was starting for real and we weren't disappointed. Her fall/winter 07-08 season was simply amazing, so many (great) shows. After that she appeared in Vogue Italia (beauty pages) again, get a cover of Velvet and... French Revue de Modes: astonishing. Following those were editorials in W, 10 magazine, Dazed & Confused and last but not least Numéro. Two editorial in two months in a row. Impressive, especially because of the high quality of the eds. The last one (in current Numéro 84) is particularly strinking, breathtaking. Some people see Karen Elson in it or in her. Sometimes for the best, saying she's got the same class and appeal. Sometimes they describe her as acting as a bad Karen look-alike. If I agree some pictures reminds me of Karen's best (yes, not of Karen but of her best work, but that's my point) and some others just look purely Sherer. She may share a certain aristo-chic look with Karen but I would describe it another way, both have something aristocratic yet they don't express it the same. Olga's appeal is far beyond this question, she's as delicate as delicate can be. And, after all, everytime I see her I just think that Olga is lovely, no need to explain why.
