Press review !

It's been quite a long time we haven't done any press review here. Was it the lack of magazines ? The lack of models in the magazines ? The lack of new faces among the magazines ? A bit of everything actually, even if the whole situation wasn't that bad. Good magazines weren't that hard to find yet none of them was exactly exciting. A couple of nice finds in Paris including Amelia's Magazine (tons of great editorials, superb castings and the next issue sounds maybe even more promising !), positive news from London bookstores (new issue of Issue1 and new magazine Drama) and it was almost everything. We haven't been really thrilled by the likes of Vogue, Numéro or Mixte. Had a better feeling towards the latest L'Officiel (count Dovile Virsilaite, Kelli Lumi, Sona Matufkova... not bad but not enough to make us forget Viktoriya Sasonkina from the previous issue) and were totally disappointed by Jalouse. The only model is Leah de Wavrin and the most important part was the supplement (advertising for Levi's) featuring no less than Karmen Pedaru and Paulina Nierodzik.

Georgina Stojiljkovic @ Women (Paris)

That was for all we've seen and felt these last weeks. Now there are some fresher news. Nothing enormously exciting either. A few great new or upcoming models, though. Count Nika Lauraitis in latest Elle UK, Anett Griffel in Neo2, Elvira Khisaeva in current Muteen as the three most striking examples (even if we wouldn't excatly call Anett a "new" face). Other little things to be noticed are Sona Matufkova (busy, busy, busy) in french Glamour and Georgina Sojiljkovic in german Glamour. Like this kind of faces is in high demand right now. Why ? Maybe for their edgy-womanly look, a combination of what have been listed (over and over) as classic and this marvelous strength and oddness in most of their features. Think of Georgiana's ears and nose, Sona's bone structure, face shapes. But also check their eyes and the overall vibe you get from their poses, their attitude and the feeling that after all the combination of their not so common can look quite classic somehow. This is a good thing as it clearly shows how Georgina, with her almost masculine nose, can balance it by some rather feminine aspects. How she can push both her freak side and her sensuality to the max and how it works. Models like Ana Mihajlovic or Michaela Kocianova have already experimented this way yet none of them has ever reached Georgina's performance. Hope that stylists and photographers will take not of this extreme potential and make the best use of it... Maybe this answer will come with the next magazine !
