Win the race

Cate Chant @ d'Management (Milan), New York Model Management, Nathalie (Paris)
and Chantale Nadeau Model Placement (Canada)

You always need to handle this parameter: speed. Speed of sound or speed of light. Going faster and faster, reaching another level. Crossing the line. Being the first, the winner. But there is a question which remains over and over again. Need an answer, need to stop running for a couple of minutes to find it. What do you really want to win or... which race are you running, after all ? The goal, the aim, the reason.
Raising your speed isn't always the best answer and going faster doesn't always bring you closer to your future. This might sound odd and off-topic for an article on Cate Chant, though. Don't really know, we had this title and intro running (another race) wild in our heads this morning. That's the first thing that comes in our mind when we see Cate, everything around her went so fast at the beginnings then we have clearly no idea of how far she is from her climax. Having already done a Prada collection and an editorial (by the great
Greg Williams) in Vogue Italia, her career is most likely on the right slope yet she still lacks a major cover and is far from any overexposure. Actually she's still a bit confidential, Cate is like one of the best-kept secrets of the modeling industry. There's no need for speed in this kind of career, no need to hurry and no need to worry. As if Cate was already a part of the future of fashion, as if we know she'll be there but not when exactly. It makes the whole thing much more thrilling than a young girl getting all the most coveted jobs in a couple of weeks. Cate's career is a like a romantic sci-fi story getting real day after day with its most exciting part being the endless suspense. We know what makes the future, we can't tell when it starts. Tomorrow ? That's what we have to guess. Accurate expectations are better weapons than high speed, understanding the process to be a better part of it has more power than any immediate scoop. Being ahead of your time doesn't mean being ahead of the others. Cate seems simply above.
