Flowers that take their time to blossom...

Adina Forizs @ Icon Model Management (Hungary), IMG (Paris, NY, London & Milan)
She wasn't exactly our favorite from the start. Adina Forizs, directly from Hungary to Prada s/s 08. Opening the show and gathering all the biggest expectations for that season and beyond. And this seemed to slow down. Decent shows in NY f/w 08-09 and only a few pictures popping up in magazine like Numéro or Vogue Italia. Only one page in the latter, though. We can't really say we were disappointed by that as she wasn't our darling of the season and to be fully honest we had a few doubts on her abilities. No misunderstanding, she was great, she was striking, she was eye-catching... but there seemed to be something wrong with many of her pictures. Even backstage pictures, and her editorial in Numéro wasn't totally convincing. And people around started to ask them the question. What's wrong with her ? Not photogenic ? One of our friend in Paris saw a picture of her we've taken at Felipe Oliveira Baptista and even asked if she was a model. It was a little harsh but we understood his feeling. Something wrong in her pose, something awkward in her eyes. She was faster than the speed of light then she was like a broken arrow. What's next ? What's now ?
Actually she remains the slightly awkward model she was a few months ago but it seems this awkwardness is winning us over. This awkwardness can be so sensual, unexpectedly sensual. We have in mind a backstage shot, one of her most recent. Slightly asymmetrical pose. The kind of pictures in which we often see some huge possibilities. Someone even told us this picture was sexy. We thought if this is sexy, we love sexiness. Kudos to Adina for reinventing sexy. Seems she's doing the same with her latest editorial in The Room, a hungarian magazine. And with it came our final crush for her. Nothing is uncertain any longer. It's all about heartbeats and goose-bumps now. Left breathless by her poses, her overall look and the perfect way she's getting into the styling and the atmosphere of Les Fleurs du Mal.
It's actually the topic of the editorial and the main topic of this issue of The Room. The first time we've seen the mag for real was in Paris two months ago. We were in a rush and just having a quick pause at WH Smith, rue de Rivoli before running to the next metro station when we saw a mag featuring Iekeliene Stange on the cover. Beautiful and thrilling contents. Wanted to buy it but the shop was a bit overcrowded and we had to rush to a show in thirty minutes. Memories of that magazine remained strong. The next issue is just out. No more Iekeliene on the cover, but Adina (and now we couldn't tell you how much we love her) and Anna Pichler (among others) in this issue. We also still have in mind Kinga Rajzak in a puppet story in an older issue of The Room. It seems we always have to watch for new magazines coming from different countries. It's the end of the smashing domination of the french, italian and british ones. Poland, Hungary and South America for examples have their own jewels. Much creativity, loads of eye-catching editorials, great models and talented photographers like Márton Perlaki who shot the cover and Les Fleurs du Mal. With Adina. Who can join our most cherished models now. After all, many of our favorites weren't immediate crushed. Ali Stephens and more recently Abbey-Lee Kershaw. And even our forever beloved Dovile Virsilaite. Our love for Adina still can grow, blossoming and blossoming.
