Numéro girl Number six

Constance Jablonski @ Marilyn (NY), Elite (Paris) A sculptural, square and slightly asymmetrical jawline as a trademark, fitting Marilyn NY's current aesthetic along with girls like Tabea Kobach and a S/S 09 season that left a strong memory. From Donna Karan to Diane Von Furstenberg in NY, followed by a thrilling trilogy in London (Christopher Kane, Jaeger and Armand Basi), some selective bookings in Milan and an explosive week in Paris (ruling it from Nina Ricci to Lanvin). Comparison with allegedly similar-looking models were... [Lire la suite]

You can be my cup of tea tonight

Karlie Kloss @ Next (NY), Next (Paris), Next (London) She's like the weaver in november, blowing cold wind with the same might as warm wind and doing it the most unpredictable way. In every possible meaning. Our windy lady of the day was one of the recurring topics in our convos lately and only one thing was clear since the beginnings: she can't let us indifferent. Or maybe she's even unable to leave one indifferent. You might love her or not, you'll notice her. Not only for her sensational season where she embodied various... [Lire la suite]

Pretty pictures of Isabelle

Isabelle Sauer @ Modelwerk (Germany) Polaroids gave the first kick, her tests by Michael Schwartz are such a wonderful post-kick delight. As his bio on his website says it very frankly, Michael likes to take pretty pictures. And we love the ones he took of Viktoriya Sasonkina, Rachel Clark or Natalia Chabanenko (also check his "old polaroids" section - Mina Cvetkovic, Toni Garrn and Heloise Guerin are to fall for). All in all, we've got such a catchy combo for a start. No need for another avalanche of words.... [Lire la suite]

Meet Alena !

Alena Levina @ Nathalie (Paris) Eyes like hers aren't easy to forget and we haven't forgotten the first time we saw her. For sure. Dreamy would be a sweet euphemism anyway and we can't think of any word to replace it. Go for dreamy or extra-dreamy. Extraordinary dreamy with a very light, slight, subtle impish vibe. A bit lost in translation or translating expression her own way. With a book under construction and some updates to expect. Was our last words for tonight. Back to bed, need to feed our imagination with some more odd... [Lire la suite]

Dancing in my mind

Queeny Van Der Zande @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Is it possible to fall in love with a model's name ? No clue, maybe not. Which influence it has on her image ? No clue either, maybe a little. At least. When we heard of Queeny for the first time, she was another promising new faces from Wilma Wakker, the well-known source of great ones in Amsterdam. We heard of her before we saw her and must say her name had this aura of mystery. If an intriguing name can fool you from time to time, a unique one is often a good way to get... [Lire la suite]

Caught up and convicted of being stylish

Anouk Hagemeijer @ Place (Hamburg), Ford (NY), Nathalie (Paris), Skin (Amsterdam) Big brows, big jaws. Might be the best remedy against fever ever as our second feature today goes by the name of Anouk Hagemeijer. We've spotted her in a german magazine called Maxi and if it doesn't ring a bell as a dreamboat in itself we're often smitten by the quality of the castings and thankful to these smaller scale publications who brings decent material in portfolios under construction. Anouk was already featured a few weeks ago, live... [Lire la suite]

Riding on jelly swans

Zuzana Gregorova @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Fever and strange dreams, walking in a fantastic novel across jelly swans swimming by as the river flows. Sounds like a dream and was a dream. Well, it's already said above and clearly seems to have nothing to do with Zuzana. Or better say Zuzana brought us back to reality and kept us away for early-wintertime days nailed to bed waiting for the fever - and the swans - to go away. Delirious. A quick walk on a cold wednesday afternoon. A warm bookshop full of newly released magazines,... [Lire la suite]

Angelic eyes

Angelika Kocheva @ Marilyn (NY), Marilyn (Paris) Sweetness and a certain sense of drama have been Angelika's best weapons for almost two years during when she never left our very select group of favorite models. Fantastic on the runway (spotted this season at Antonio Marras, Sonia Rykiel, Erin Fetherston, Jaeger and... Chanel) as much as in magazines (recently french and US Elle), always delivering the specific Angelika's touch described above, she strikes back this month in french publication Mixte (by Ali Peck). In... [Lire la suite]

Where it all begins

Nadezhda Ruf @ LMA (Russia) Nadezhda was among our inital picks from LMA when we wrote a full article dedicated to the agency from Saint Petersburg. Alexandra Korostelyeva - call her Sasha - was already the eye behind the camera who did these wonderful tests we used to illustrate posts on new faces from Avant Models. Thanks to her work we had an incredible preview of a new girl's potential and editorial abilities. As we often follow the models careers from the early days, you can imagine how glad we are when they do their... [Lire la suite]

Little genius

Olga Mazur @ Nathalie (Paris) Nearly eight months ago, we were talking about Olga for the first time after seeing her early work with photographer Baldovino Barani. Both him and us were sharing the same point on the young model. A little genius in making. Seems it's more appropriate now than ever, as her book went stronger. A diamond-in-the-rough on her way to be one of the crown jewels would be a great way to describe her. Or at least how we see her, with her unique way to inject a slight dosis of humor in each of her... [Lire la suite]
