Viktoriya Sasonkina @ Women (NY), Women (Paris), Women (Milan), Storm (London)

These tears we cried are tears of joy. These tears, these days. So many great news to read, to watch or to hear. Viktoriya Sasonkina. First of all, her story in Vogue Russia by Terry Tsiolis. Experimenting the curls again, in a pretty different way as at John Galliano. Though, something remains, over and over. Her touch, the way she adds much personality to her walk is the same she leaves her own mark in editorials. On runways it's her elegant, powerful and dynamic presence. Easy going dynamite, shiny and explosive. Highly dramatic and a tad clownesque. Far from the image of the catwalk-soldier, walking miles and miles. Her own s/s 09 runway mileage is pretty short yet direct to the point, from Anna Sui to Galliano. Including an incredible amount of unforgettable backstage pictures, close glimpses on her inimitable behavior. From funny snaps to Vogue Italia, once again the way was short. While she booked only selective castings, her editorials by Meisel were out. Including the cover. Playing characters like others say hello. Saying hello like other play characters. Welcome to Viktoriya's world, an imaginary land that Steven Meisel seems never tired to explore. For Vogue of course, for Calvin Klein Jeans, for Alberta Ferretti. And more explorations to come, adventures in making.
