Like there's no Tomorrow
Mina Cvetkovic @ Women (NY)
It's not the first time they work together. Mina Cvetkovic and photographer Beau Grealy. We would love any pictures with Mina and Beau's work is seriously growing on us as well (we also owe him some seriously stunning shots of Dasha Malygina, another perennial favorite of ours). Beau was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and works in New York. Mina looks like she was born and raised in South Detroit, like in one of our favorite movie-soundtracks. In a story simply entitled About A Girl, she embodies one of our favorite sides of America, visually speaking. Slightly decadent and delightfully melancholic, between American dream(s) and everyday nightmares. An endless world where people are simply passing by, coming back, going again, spreading their story around through whispers and cold tears.
Mina's first story shot by Beau had the same signature, same aesthetic. Not the same atmosphere. That story in QVEST released last winter had such a nostalgic vibe while this brand new spread from Flair seems to take place in the present. Or in that past that still seems so close to us, still living. The signature stays, maybe even the inspirations. The mood changes. Like life. Like lives. Ours or yours. One year ago we were probably picking a second beer in the fridge, tonight we're enjoying peppermint tea and apricots. The atmosphere is totally different but, for unclear reasons, the signature remains similar. We're still up late at night, writing these stories about the models, magazines and photographers we like. Like there's no tomorrow.
