Emma Karlsson @ IMG

Sounds like the Karlssonmania is going on (and wild) here. And not only on this page, magazines and photographers love her too. We already talked about Jessie Craig who considers her almost like a muse and featured her spread from NEO2. This time, it's in freshly-released September issue of Biba that you can find Emma Karlsson shot by Taka Mayumi. Some of you might think it's just Biba and not Vogue but we keep our trust in the magazine who's always ahead of the game in France for fashion stories using the newest girls in town or alternative models (remember they booked Lakshmi Menon before she was in high demand), great stylists every single month and photographers including Sarah Moon, no less. Of course it's neither Purple nor V and the point is clearer when it comes to clothes but if you are as focused on models as we are, it's quite the goldmine.

Once again the editorial is very Karlssonesque, with typical poses of IMG's ultrablond swedish pixie and the formula simply works. Over and over again. Endlessly. Cute expression with a twist of humor, slightly fierce and fully impish glimpses right to the camera and a high dose of cartoon-ish drama. It's the way it works and the way it will probably always work but we can't get enough. She seems to find a new way to use it each time and is the perfect one to embody a new mood for a new season. Glittering outfits softened by black and white photography, transluscent dresses twisted by bunny ears and an interpretation of velvet by a sweet, smiling Emma. Eight playful pages for eight fabrics, eight effects reaching their target in one look without any randomness despite Emma seriously seems to have some fun.
