Fashion week goes fast and backstage quickly becomes boring, unless you see it through an inspired eye. When Kristiina Wilson told us she was going to do some backstage coverage in New York for Dossier Journal, we smelled some gorgeous shots on their way. For spending sometimes at and around the shows ourselves in Paris, we've learnt that it should never turn into a reportage (in our case at least) and should rather be treated the same as other topics related on models image. Like pieces of editorials or stylish digitals but never like an objective review of what went on inside the tents.

Backstage might be hectic as hell (can be fun too but you should never ever take this for granted), it's still where you learn specific little things on new models, which don't show on their polaroid sheets. You see them in motion, you watch them in action, you capture some small details of their attitude that might become their trademark in editorials later. Hence our huge pleasure to feature Kristiina's work in NY this season, gathering a lovely collections of FDIB favorites. Of course, there is much more to watch for on Dossier Journal but we're almost sure you're already there to discover it.

I heard from a backstage photographer how hard is to get some real, but natural action in pictures. I always think about it when I look at those backstage ones. It's amazing how one can picture a single moment and make it look that beautiful. Adore shots you posted, they all have this strange tension. Love that!
