We Hear Violins, You Know What It Means
At this stage it's not a show package anymore or a show-doc as
we say in Paris, it's a symphony. From every point of view: the pace,
the music, the visuals running in front of your eyes when you're
watching this (not-so) short movie, literally stuck to your screen.
Video packages are getting more and more popular these days and each
agency might have its own version of the excercise, trying themselves
at it with more or less success. IMG probably worked it out
perfectly on one point at least: the way it pictures the agency,... [Lire la suite]

MK-Medley (Extended Airplay Mix)
Maaike Klaasen @ SPS (The Netherlands)
You might think she's too cool for school but eductation is still a
priority for Mighty Maaike and she's skipping the shows this season for
this exact reason. No need to rush, anyway, and judging by the flow of
materials coming (quite relentlessly and endlessly), there is no need
to worry as well. And development takes time, and time matters, and you
know the whole story. So, we are just glad to share some of Maaike
Klaasen's most recent materials, too many pictures to put everything
... [Lire la suite]27-09-10
Dash and Spark
Dasha @ Image Discovery (email / blog)
Dasha might have more dash than cash today, she's got enough spark to
convert this look of hers into gold in a near or further future. The
latest discovery of Image Discovery (sorry for the second pun of this Monday morning) is 16-years-old and 5'10 (178) and this combination
certainly does not hurt. Or let's rather say it goes hand in hand with
her ferocious yet subtle (green? grey? blue eyes? you tell us!) gaze
and dark eyebrows that seem to want to conquer the world... [Lire la suite]24-09-10
Ride the Tide
Kamila @ ML Studio (Poland)
Fashion week, fashion weeks... shows, casting and none looking like
another. Shall we consider this fact as a good point, when each
designer/casting director tries to build his own vision around a given
show or shall we take it as pure randomness. Guess it depends highly on
each case, as some shows seemed to have a real point trying to pull out
a statement or create a certain aesthetic that echoes the collection
while others were just too hard to understand (even too hard to look
at)... [Lire la suite]22-09-10
Beauty (Blush)
Abbey Lee Kershaw @ Next
Abbey Lee might be the most remarkable plsatinum-blonde of these days,
the latest piece of editorial work we have of her still showcases her
natural hair color (in black and white but still). Shot by Willy
Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo, published in The Gentlewoman (the
most amazing thing we've had in hands these last few months, see more
here), Blush is more exactly a beauty story and you may start thinking
we've became obsessed by beauty stories.... [Lire la suite]22-09-10
Casual or Not
Olga Cazacenco @ Ice Squared (Milan)
Haven't talked a lot about London this season (did we talk about New
York much as well? maybe before it started, right) and off to Milan we
go now. First day today, first thrill later this afternoon (think Gucci
and tune your mood) and first Milano-girl on FDIB this morning. From
Ice Squared, home of Melinda and Alisa, who just released their show
package on their blog asking if you are squared enough. We might be but
not sure it's our answer that matters most these days. And... [Lire la suite]21-09-10
Love and Luck
Bregje Heinen @ Micha Models (The Netherlands), Select (London), Supreme (NY), Women (Milan)
There are these days you wonder if emotions are your friends or foes
and can't find a proper answer, some days you wish it was all mild and
calm, that you were flowing on your feelings instead of being carried
by the flood. If there one fashion story (beauty story for that matter)
which really materialise this impression, that would be Bregje's latest
spread in Glass Magazine, third issue. Opened by a... [Lire la suite]21-09-10
Back to Life!
Alina Untila @ Mandarina (Romania)
First job, first cover and a great statement on it: Back to Life! A
good idea for a September issue and a very uncommon way to picture it,
going for a minimalist, dry and light-colored aesthetic instead of
overloading the visual with all these jolly clichés usually related to
the theme. We've always known Ozon for its creativity and the magazine
never fails to offer an alternative vision and, in this precise case, a
different point of view on fashion and beyond fashion
boundaries. No big... [Lire la suite]17-09-10
Time Goes By (Tic-Tacs and Tactics)
Justina Muralyte @ Supermodels (Lithuania)
Writing an update after an introduction is quite an obvious pleasure for whoever is interested in the process of development. Both seeing the book growing thicker and the skills getting finer are things we certainly count among the most important when we've started following a model's career from the very beginning. Keeping our eyes on the screen, watching, waiting and seeing, and always looking for the next step to be reached. And crossed, as we are talking... [Lire la suite]15-09-10
Fever vs. Frenzy
Fashion week is going its way and the first interesting facts are there now. Still a bit too early to think of a review (or a no-review) but we do really think a few models we spotted these days are worth some kind of report. Not really focusing on shows only and it's often good to keep one of your eyes away from the runway when everything is happening. Leaving all options open because in two weeks then in three weeks everything can be different. You never know at this stage and all we feel allowed to tell for the moment is who we... [Lire la suite]
