Fashion does it Better

Release The Butterfly

Merethe Hopland @ Joy (Milan), Modelwerk (Hamburg), Elite (London) Sometimes, you know, we are tired of looking like this, you know. Doing what we do, the way we do it. We all need a breathe (or a breeze?) of fresh air to re-energize ourselves and get the necessary strength to move on to new horizons. It often takes a kick, a thrill or whatever (leaving you the choice of the vocable here) to look to the future. Getting back on tracks, back to basics yet never looking back without denying what the legacy of... [Lire la suite]

Who Am I: Where You Are

Projects are going their ways, taking different forms after starting from the same roots. Everything always evolves for the simple reason it has to evolve one way or another. Or disappear, or lose its spark and interest. It's better then to go for an evolution, slow or spectacular. A transformation, a metamorphosis. Fashion can appear as static for a couple of months or seasons, never more. As soon as you understood this parameter, you have to adapt and adjust. Move forward, step away from any kind of systematic mechanism.... [Lire la suite]

Young Hearts Are Free (The SELECTion)

Maaike, Amy, Ellie, Frida, Lottie, Katie, Nia, Nadia, Cassie and Odile Coco @ Select (London) At this exact moment (writing this piece) we're still hesitating between two distinct titles. Usual dilemma, less usual feature. Shall we go for the inspiration of the moment, which would be Young Hearts Are Free or something like that. Or for the nickname we gave to the project while working on it: The SELECTion. Because that's where our hesitation is, between putting emphasis... [Lire la suite]

Insane Insight

Melinda Szepesi @ Premier (London), Ice (Milan) Gaslight nights, randomly dressed and surviving with pizzas, beers and whatever sweet stuff, loud live music all evening long, twisted mornings  looking for parts of ourselves we might have forgotten next to some pieces of art in the other room. Was our life these last few days, was our daily nightlife (!) next to administrative duties lasting till dusk. New week, cold Monday, sound went away for a while and things are supposed to be back to normal. Supposedly, because nothing... [Lire la suite]

Exciting Times (Be Still, My Heart)

Kamila @ ML Studio (Poland) It was roughly one month ago only, end of September just before we left the office for five days in Paris. It was the introduction of Kamila, newcomer at ML Studio. It was cute, quiet times and it's all frenzy and excitement now after all went so fast for the Polish young woman (19-years-old). Feels a bit strange and very exciting when we remembered our title when we first wrote about her, Ride the Tide, since she quite caught her wave and took the opportunity. Quite some... Do Not Know, Do Not Care

Hanna Samokhina @ Wilhelmina (NY) Do not know, do not care. What tomorrow will be but always eager to be the day after. Time goes by so slowly on one side and too fast when you think of the next deadlines in your life. Making decisions is never an easy task, it takes some extra strength and clear goals in mind to make the most important ones. As nothing is ever granted, you always get to cope with unexpected parameters and hopefully good surprises as well. Talking about good surprises, Hanna's performance... [Lire la suite]

The End

Annabelle Tsaboukas @ Women (NY) The end or the beginning. Or the never ending circle, like seasons. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring again but no Spring ever look like the previous one. So, if an end is never really an end, a beginning is never really a beginning either. That's life, sorry if this is easy to say. You never know when things are going to stop and what's going to replace or keep the same vibe alive. But instead of babbling on the beginnings and ends of things (times? eras?), the Springs and Falls, the alphas and... [Lire la suite]

High Fly, Touch The Sky

Ana Gilca @ Mandarina (Romania), Premier (London) Welcome to Premier says the Union Jack on the agency's homepage. You got the right message and just can't wait to click on it. The mood is set and the atmosphere takes you straight ahead to the other side of the Channel. A short, instant imaginary trip that you want to turn into reality in a glimpse and you remember nothing is ever impossible. Absolutely nothing and that's what keeps you going on, keeps you awake late at night and kicks you out of bed early in the morning. Ana... [Lire la suite]

Bat Girl

Merle Bergers @ SPS (The Netherlands) Merle might be the sweetest girl ever, she knows how to embody the perfect brat for a few hours when shooting with Jolijn Snijders. Bat brat if you allow us to drop a little pun to wake you up on this rainy Wednesday morning. And it would actually fit for the playful vibe one can get from these pictures, carefreely playing with pop symbols. Welcome to Merle's world, pictured here as a one-girl-show on a giant red dot. It seems fun at first time yet the story behind is quite interesting to know as... [Lire la suite]

Tatatata Bengbengbeng (All The Rage)

Valerija Kelava and Hanne Gaby Odiele @ Ford (NY), Hannah Holman @ Elite (NY) Working till two in the morning, waking up with loud disco straight in the ears and working again. Did we even sleep or did we dream we slept? That is the question and a very good one. Vogue Italia is not a dream, though it's a shame it hasn't reached our favorite bookshop yet -- will probably have to kick some asses soon if we want to get it in time.. next time. Because this issue is all the rage here and now, and makes us eager to see... [Lire la suite]
