SuperCasting at SuperModels
It's going to be one of the biggest casting event in Europe this year, it's going to take place at the end of this week. On Sunday, 16th of May, Supermodels Model Management will hold a huge casting in Vilnius with no less than (or more or less) 200 girls attending the event to be seen by several international scouts and representative of foreign agencies. We had experiences of open castings gathering hundreds of girls but this one will only show girls carefully selected by the mother agency which makes it a totally different... [Lire la suite]14-03-10
Casting Connections at Sharon Wauchob Fall 2010
HANNE GABY ODIELE
To tell you the truth, we didn't attend as many shows as we used to as we spent less time in Paris while our schedule was heavier than ever. Though, one we wouldn't miss for anything on earth is Sharon Wauchob. For the silhouettes on the runway of course but as a model-focused webpage, mostly for the impeccable casting they never fail to have there. Our favorite motto being that every casting has to be a statement (or at least to reflect the mood of a collection), Wauchob's has been on the top of our list for... [Lire la suite]12-03-10
The Elite Squad
Ali Carr: caught our attention with some tests by Jonathan Leder a bit before the season then we simply fell in love with her look after she walked for Marc Jacobs. And that's just the intro. In our recent entries, her name was quoted a few times to illustrate what we call a fabulous first season: no overwhelming buzz but overwhelming facts. Her way from NY shows to Paris runways is just the way it should be for a girl making her first steps, as selective as expensive. Put names like Burberry or Aquilano.Rimondi on the list and add... Alternative Statements
Gaspard Yurkievich quickly became a regular name on our Paris to-do-list and it's not without any good reason behind. Skipping a meeting for the sake of a casting reminds us our core business includes much more than making then strenghtening connections, like going where things happen and try to find out why. What happened at Yurkievich this season is not very different from previous seasons but that's actually the point, this runway keeps playing its role of highlighting potential major future forces in fashion modeling.
Besides... [Lire la suite]07-02-10
FDIB loves and bookmarks: Kristiina Wilson's Notpolas from today
Lucia Jonova and Julija Steponaviciute @ IMG (NY), Lela and Nathaline Marchett @ Wilhelmina (NY)
It's quite showtime and we have to love polaroids and snapshots right now. Can't escape, can't run away from it. Though if castings for the shows are getting full-force coverage everywhere, the last set of polas that caught our eyes are actually for a magazine, taken by photographer Kristiina Wilson. The notpolas as she call them herself are lovely rectangles with wooden background and pale light that literally bites and ates the model... [Lire la suite]27-01-10

Sedene, Stephanie, Melissa and Anne Sophie @ d'management (Milan)
Drum rolls and heartbeats... here are the latest models to sign with direct-booking boutique in Milan, d'management. And even the number of girls in the package seems just perfect. What do you think of four aces ? La creme de la creme of the current international newbies is right in front of your eyes. Sedene (featured here last November), for example, is already getting an amazing response in New York, gathering the highest hopes around her... [Lire la suite]18-01-10
Limelight News
Emma Dumont @ Ford (NY)
We closed last week with Emma and start this one with her again. Going round but tuned for the future, might be the mood of the day. First thing, we believed it was quite useful and lovely to show how the cute and ethereal Emma can turn into a sophisticated model with a little (and a little only) styling. Sleek black and white allows us to put our finger on another side of her potential while she proved her best asset is definitely this delicate fagile look, which doesn't fade away once seen through another... V like Victories, F like Ford
Emma @ Ford (NY)
Okay, it's almost 11pm and we've got headaches and itching eyes. Whatever, who cares. Some news can't wait and tomorrow is too late. Just got one of the most georgeous mail (loved the way it was written too) with one of the most promising girl of these last week. It took us to open it to wake up again and postpone our little rest. Ford's winner from their V magazine contest is worth to stay one more hour under the artificial light.
Isn't she delicate and graceful ? Emma is a real ballerina (not... [Lire la suite]14-01-10
Two of the FM Kind
Sadie Newman @ FM (London), Ford (NY)
Dark hair and pale skin, winning combo ? Seems so, especially when you push both at their extremes. It's not the first an agency gives a try to that look but it has recently reached a very special level at FM, London. Two girls of this kind are seeing their career opportunities growing sky-high while their future looks more promising than ever. Don't want to jinx anything so, let's simply put it that way: development is wonderfully done with major materials. Editorials around the... [Lire la suite]10-12-09
One Night in Riga
We couldn't not call it One Night in Riga even if the whole event
lasted a little longer than an evening and we even spent two days just
to arrive in town through trains and buses. Ford Supermodel of the
World in Baltic countries was hosted by 2B Models, the agency who will
take care of the girls found via the contest and we already know the
level of management they can expect from the latvian boutique. Nikole
Ivanova's or Laine Rogova's debuts could be pointed as good example of
the great teamwork done so far by Ford and 2B.... [Lire la suite]
