Ford Finale in the Baltics: 48 Hours and 5 Winners
Megija
Twenty four hours to come and twenty four hours tomorrow to go back
to full-time blogging. Fourty eight hours with a lot of action in
between. Riga was supposed to be a cold place at this time of the year
but we only have hot news. Ford Supermodel of World's finale for Baltic
countries took place less than two days ago and the winners are just as
impressive as the contest's name. Five girls were selected for the
World Finale in Sao Paulo but all the contestants are actually worth a
few lines. So, we're going to make it... [Lire la suite]13-11-09
Eight Days to Countdown
Scouting goes from "get discovered by chance at your local shopping-mall" to "be seen, be signed - rush to worlwide events".
Usually we're more focused on street-scouting and lucky discoveries, we
still enjoy the charms of the good-old way to find new talents. But
contests have definitely started to take their own place in our heart
as another reliable process of discovering models after attending a
couple of them at a small-town level. A good way not to overlook anyone
and when they are run by high-profile... [Lire la suite]

Ungaro Girl
Jovana Culjkovic @ Just WM (Paris)
She's seventeen and 5'11 (180), she's Jovana at WM and... she's the mysterious newbie who walked for Ungaro Spring Summer 2010 one month ago. Remember the elegant silhouette, the aura of mystery, the soft dark vibe of her look ? We can't imagine you forgot but, in case, you still can fall in love seeing her polas from Paris. Laid-back yet still dramatic - deep green eyes with a touch of sweet melancholy, Jovana got quite a coveted spot for a start but we believe she's already more than a... [Lire la suite]10-10-09
TMSRRE part 19: Anastasija
Anastasija Kondratjeva @ Vacatio (Latvia), New York Models (NY), Elite (Paris), Elite (London), Why Not (Milan)
We were talking about the girls that always do well in Paris in our previous TMSRRE dedicated to Egle Tvirbutaite and we might tell you a similar story again when it comes to Anastasija Kondratjeva. A girl who did well since her first walk in New York till the last days in Paris but who seems to get most of the attention in the latter and we wouldn't mind calling her another darling of the City of Lights.... Seven Reasons and Only One Elena
Elena Ivanova @ Just WM (Paris)
First: we weren't at Givenchy show.
Second: we had amazing meetings and the loveliest dinner of the week
instead. Third: the casting at Givenchy was so great it's a bit
heartbreaking to think we've missed it but still love our meetings and
dinner, no regrets. Fourth: Ranya Mordanova and Johanna Kneppers were
both stunning there and that's good news. Fifth: Antonella Graef looked
better than ever when she opened again. Sixth: we're inlove with Nastya
Karzan's moody expression, so... [Lire la suite]04-10-09
The Ones Who Stopped By Will Fly Higher
Valerija Kelava @ Next (Paris)
Gaspard Yurkievich didn't disappoint - as
always. Seems that the famous casting director behind the faces of
Spring Summer 2010 did her work with much love and managed once again
to strengthen the aesthetic of the collection. Faces you have to
remember, faces that need no efforts to remember. Good mix with a few
surprising newcomers who were worth to meet this season. High level
means also high level of surprise. If the whole week wasn't as
thrilling as this so far, Gaspard Yurkievich... [Lire la suite]03-10-09
TMSRRE part 18: Egle
Egle Tvirbutaite @ Elite (NY), Next (Paris, Milan), Elite (London)
Times are hard and we are running...
feeling strange - overwhelmed by the schedule, underwhelmed by the
castings so far. Most of them. There was enough room for surprises but
clearly no surprises is high enough to give us goosebumps. Nothing
shocking enough to bring back the thrill we felt during many other
seasons. Transition ? Might be. Could be. Should be. And we want it to
be a sort of transition. When forces are moving, you can feel the
motions yet... [Lire la suite]02-10-09
Just WM's
Dijana Radetic @ Just WM (Paris)
Another fashion week is starting again
right now and the international focus moved from Milan to Paris. Good
girls too but the ones we're highly interested in today aren't the same
who took the plane and arrived overnight. While everybody is waiting
for his favorites, we're just glad to introduced the unexpected
newbies. Just WM's formula proved it works last season when Johanna Kneppers caught eyes and attention at Balenciaga.
The relentless hunt for fresh faces who will do more than impress... [Lire la suite]29-09-09
TMSRRE part 17: Frida
Frida Gustavsson @ IMG (Paris, NY, Milan, London)
She walked everything a girl has to walk in New York (including Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein, Philosophy, Rodarte and Ralph Lauren). She was everywhere she had to be in London from Christopher Kane to Pringle, she opened Gianfranco Ferré in Milan and walked for Alberta Ferretti, Fendi, Jil Sander, Missoni among others in the same city. Sounds like name dropping and even if some will point out how one show is missing in that line-up, we just have to say she doesn't need... [Lire la suite]29-09-09
More Slices of Slides
Alina @ Slides (Paris)
Here we go. Paris tomorrow and time for a little flashback before living in the present full-time for a few days. Slides girls as we said, all shoot during Haute Couture week in Paris last July while the models were waiting to get ready for Julien Fournié's first show. A whole bunch of beauties from the ones you already know to the faces of tomorrow - meet the new look of Slides.
First one in alphabetic order, first one in success as well as Alina Zaharia started her career on the right slope walking... [Lire la suite]
