QVEST be good to us
Living near the border, Germany has always been a wonderful and endless source for thrilling magazines and we've already featured many of them. Among our favorites, QVEST was one that never disappointed us and one of the only we have almost every issue since we've heard of it for the first time. We're in love with their castings and the incredible styling of their fashion stories. So, when we've been asked by QVEST to make an printed article on Fashion Does It Better in the next issue, our hearts started to beat faster.
It was a real honor and a pleasure, a fantastic experience for us and an exciting adventure as it was exactly at the same time we went in Paris for the shows. After sending them some backstage pictures in real time and after receiving that mail saying "you'll be in the next issue" we've been waiting eagerly for the mag to be released. And the bookstores in the little town at the border were slower than ever. Playing with our hearts and nerves. We had to wait and travel deeper in Germany to get it and, finally, we had it in our hands. Smelling the paper and trying to believe our four eyes.
Stay tuned for our review of the editorial from this issue. The casting is beyond awesome. Think of Paul Pavlovska, Lidia Prus, Amber Milam and (the too rare and too good) Marina Paneva among others...

New Tush in stores !

by Armin Morbach,
styled by Sascha Gaugel, make-up by Yasmin Heinz
model: Alexandra Tretter
Here it is. The new Tush, the #4 of this year following the three others in their footsteps. High quality editorials that makes you able to buy every issue eyes-closed. With its amazing range of photographers, stylists, make-up artists, models etc. Tush is more than ever the best beauty-oriented fashion magazine in Europe and an absolute highlight from Germany.
This issue includes the colorful story shot by Armin Morbach (also editor in chief of Tush) with one of those magical make-up we're always glad to see from Yasmin Heinz (who also has an interview in this issue, stay tuned for some selected picks). And Alexandra Tretter. Keep an eye wide open on this promising model !

by Felix Lammers,
styled by Spela Lenarcic, make-up by Yasmin Heinz
model: Inguna Butane
The second editorial we've picked from Tush is very special for us. First we love Inguna Butane's work. Beautiful, sensitive, sensual. No less. Then we've written an article on the duet-work of Felix Lammers and Yasmine Heinz a few months ago. And this story might even be the strongest example of their work together. Pure wonder.
Other contents include some great surprises too. Andressa Fontana is becoming Germany's next sweetheart (before Tush, she recently appeared in Qvest, Deutsch and Glamour) who's shot by Sara Silver. Other models are Morgane Dubled (yes, another popular model in Germany, see her work for Vogue), Milagros Schmoll, Sara Blomqvist, Liga Magone, Jana Knauerova... and photographed by Paul Empson, Gianluca Fontana, Txema Yeste...
To find the mag, follow Julia Stegner. She's on the cover. And our conclusion is as always: run to Germany and rush for Tush.

Wound Magazine
It's time to introduce a new mag called Wound. Fashion, art, music and archtecture are among the main topics you'll find here. And as an introduction we've selected an editorial by Peter Zownir modelled by Franziska Franke and with Yasmin Heinz as make-up artist. The same Yasmin we've already featured here for her work in different magazine like Tush or Wig, just to name a few. This editorial, based on movement effects, might be a highlight in both Yasmin and Peter's career. And a good start for Wound.

French, Revue de Modes

Meghan Collison, Ali Michael, Kastyn Reid, Gabriela Oulicka, Elena Melnik and Angelika Kocheva,
Masha Novoselova, Elsa Sylvan, Sofi Berelidze, Mina Cvetkovic, Diana Moldovan, Karina Gubanova, Zuzanna Stankiewicz and Bruna Hort

Sofi Berelidze and Rachel Clark

Julia Välimäki and Yana Karpova
Ajuma Nasenyana and Kinee Diouf
First pictures out of French Revue de Modes fall/winter 07-08. Huge, interesting issue, some of our personal favorites are featured in many editorials. Just think Masha Novoselova and Sofi Berelidze. And Cicely Telman, pictures coming soon. Really rich in models, different models, different generation I'd say even if the title of the main editorial is called "the next generation". Next is in the eyes of the beholder and if I don't see many properly saying new faces, that's still a bunch of models on the rise. All the credits are coming...

Mags. And more mags.

Alison Nix on two different version of Dedicate's cover...discover Dedicate.
Here are a few magazines that caught my eyes. Some of them just recently, some others are on my shopping list for a while now. Anyway, those are the one I'd like to make you discover and the kind I'd like to discover more. Always more...
I've heard of this magazine a few times ago. Heard it was nice so decided to check their website. Wasn't disappointed at all by the content of the current issue (#8). Featuring editorials with Coco Rocha or Katarina Ivanovska this time, Hobo magazine is released twice a year with interviews, articles and fashion pictures like those below. Based in Canada, also remember it's printed on 100% recycled paper. Coco makes it glossy. http://www.hobomagazine.com
I've been told of Issue One by a friend. I had to take a look at it, to have a preview of this magazine from UK featuring 12 different photographers working each one on 14 pages fashion stories. For it's third publication, the title is "Serious" after going through "Furious" and "Kinky". Expect huge amounts of high quality editorials and fashion articles. Available all around the world, I must admit I haven't seen it here yet. Though in Paris, Germany, UK, etc. Will have to travel more...http://www.issue-one.com
Just discovered it today and already five issues out, I've picked some previews of editorials featured in S Magazine starting with it's very first publication. Nudity all over this limitless magazine, featuring some amazing photographer's work (below: Christian Friis, Fabrizio Rainone, Gilles Toledano, Steven Lyons and Derek Henderson but also many others including Signe Vilstrup...), it goes beyond and stays beautiful. Available worldwide and out two times a year. One to watch carefully ! http://www.spublication.com/
Stumbled on this one during fashion week in Paris. Vs (for Versus) is definitely a magazine I should keep in mind with its large format and first class editorials. I must say I have a soft spot for scandinavian magazines. http://www.vspublications.com/
Another huge format for another interesting magazine. I know it for more than two years now. It's German and can be considered as valued price high fashion magazine. Tons of topics and large-sized editorial pictures. http://www.hekmag.com
One of the mags I fancy right now. Red head issue equals marvels for me. The previous issues were already good, this is time it's even beyond fantastic. No need to say more. Visit Androgyny's myspace.
That's all for the moment. More to come, of course. More next week with full reviews of French Revue de Modes and Plastique Magazine. And stay tuned for the rest. If you are the owner of magazine or if you've noticed a hot new one, just tell me. Don't hesitate. I'm always hunting for exciting issues.

Wig
I've been fancying the previous issue when we were in Paris for couture fashion week in january and had lots of regrets that I hadn't bought it. However things didn't turn that bad because right now I have the newest issue of Wig, a big, thick, chic and square magazine with tons of wonderful pictures by amazing artists. Main themes include "Dresden to Dubrovnik", "Budapest to Bucharest" or "Verkhnevilyuysk to Verkhoyansk" and there is a strong Eastern/Central European vibe from page one till the end.
