Fashion does it Better

Shine a Night in the Light

We just let the curtain fall at noon to spend the rest of the day in a certain kind of addictive darkness, eating industrial pizzas and homemade scones (both taste way better when the sun is away) and brainstorming – well, it did not take that long before our topic of thursday arrived on the desk. No big surprise, it's going to be Katie Moore (again, again, again), as we're just not about to get enough of fashion's freshest firefly. And, after promising you'd hear more of her when showtime was over, we're now able to... [Lire la suite]

Cosmetic Girl, In Our Mind, So Hard to Find – Abbey Lee's Beautiful Ker-Show

No, you're not (a cosmetic-lady but you're in our mind[s] for sure)... forgot, had to forget too, hey there, but we're still around, the radar's on, the lights too, the car – let's see, but, in case, it might be up for a ride. Still up for motel tours and highway supérettes we couldn't ignore. A slice of cheddar for the road (and eggs, please, eggs, and veggie bacon) and a big slice of chocolate to sleep by. No matter if we're attacked by raindrops or sandstorms, we do absolutely love the smell of latex kissing asphalt, the... [Lire la suite]

She's Got Class, She's Got Style and We're all some Cold Mr Hyde!

We're not used yet to live like Steven Klein fans but since his story for latest Love Magazine, we must say we've been looking at him (at his work to be more precise) a different way. While several others have a hard to renew with their inspiration, the one who make Trentini become a veggie doesn't really need extra meat to meet his own standards and the proof is in the pudding once again with this new spread for W Magazine, leaving us to think the newest number of the mag can wash away the heartaches the previous issue(s?)... Little Finger in the Wind

You barely rarely get to see this version of Los Angeles, not even in Bukowski's short stories. In Yelena Yemchuk's one, the slightest slice of LA sun is outshone by industrial landscapes, rusty iron beauty, filthy water and Harleth Kuusik as main and sole character around (you don't even imagine there is someone else sitting in the truck or hiding in the cars in background sipping some tedious budweisers from the can). This tale from newest Numéro is freed from failure and keeps your eyes turned on from page to page by the... [Lire la suite]

Main Dish

The launch of a new magazine is always a reason to rejoice and the launch of Luncheon was enough happiness to let us forget about the rain and even more about any kind of ride outside. Instead we keep ourselves behind closed doors, indulging with beauty and vegetables (and fish-candies!), especially excited to read names like Solve Sundsbo or Paolo Roversi among several others. And see Anna Cleveland by this very same Paolo who also has a promising interview inside. Just all we needed to feel hungry for some more heavenly... [Lire la suite]

Never Throw the Baby Out with the Bathwater

Just the morning we were complaining about the lack of Lindsey Wixson in magazines today – too many high-end catalogues yet to few more 'daring' editorial stuff – came the cover and story from ODDA Magazine, a bi-annual publication that had to steal our heart this week for its relevant choice. The theme of this tenth issue is Tribute and it was about time we pay ours to this game-changer who brought back the fun mood in fashion modeling. First noticed for this uncanny mouth of hers (and overall unique features), she has... [Lire la suite]

The Somptuous Destiny of Grace Hartzel

Featured on FDIB at the very beginning of her career, Grace Hartzel is pretty unstoppable lately (while we remain pretty loyal). It sounds so basic to say yet we wouldn't find better words to describe her flight path since she took off. Jumping easy-easy from UK or US Vogue to Garage and i-D, already a darling of Vogue Russia and Self Service, she also counts among the rare wizards that would make us love some Teen Vogue spread or an ad campaign (and you may have noticed we're usually not thrilled by campaigns in general).... Nitro

She is l'Amour Monstre. Until nine you can give us the kick and at ten we're gone drinking cheap stuff. We're up at two because it is when all happens, during the night. If she was a cherry, we wish we would be (on the) top to welcome her. Ruby Aldridge is as rare as explosive these days and we didn't want to miss the big boom, the flames, the smoke, all these things, you know. Love may breed misunderstanding but if this is how we can be misunderstood, we sign straight away. To tell it in a shorter way: if we are wrong then... [Lire la suite]

Discofight in a Night-Café

She is the one that makes bangs lovely again, the dark ones. She leaps and leaves the unnecessary smiles outside of the game. She's been photographed by Yelena Yemchuk for Vogue China and she is dancing with some dinosaurs. She goes by Lily Stewart and we go (by) her way, like we'd go for some summer love in winter. And all ways will remember that expression that seems to say pass your way but worship me now. We worship, from fringe to cheek and far beyond. We're the kind to do it total. And she too. She's such a lucky... [Lire la suite]

Don't Make Us Blue 'cause the Sky Seems Grey

Seized in our eyes she is. And we'd love to fly with her nights and days. Because she's got wings and we'd love to borrow them one day or another, just to see if the world is less boring from above. She at least can turn Versace totally heavenly. One mile high will be enough. Shame we couldn't see more of her face but we can already collapse in delight while reading her body language. And it's not that often that we can cover a spirit without a face, may the latter be the most delightful of all. Somehow it says Teddy... [Lire la suite]
