Click, Clack... Bam!

Shannan Click @ Women (NY) First time we met Shannan in Paris was a very short moment and couldn't even remember the name of the show. Since then, she quite left the runways but kept the level of her printwork sky-high. And left us with that very good question that has no answer: how can such a delicate woman (in person) look so strong in her editorials. From cheeky to fierce (sorry for the pretty bad wording), Shannan almost means power when you think of all the fashion stories she did for several A-list magazines. But Shannan also... Ranya as a Rei of Light

Ranya Mordanova @ Avant (Russia), Supreme (NY), Women (Paris, Milan), Tess (London) It takes a good model to enhance a collection or even just an outfit. It takes to this girl to be absolutely multi-tasked to let the magic happen a few minutes on the catwalk or on glossy paper for a little longer. It takes a lot, really. But what we found in current issue of Another Magazine might go far beyond. It takes to be one in a million to model an atmosphere, to tell a story and get into a designer's or a label's mood.... Dear Dishevelled

Katlin Aas @ EMA (Estonia), Marilyn (NY, Paris), Tess (London), Women (Milan) Dear Dishevelled Beautiful Girl on the silky paper of Dansk Magazine, we miss you a lot this season. Miss your look and your attitude on the catwalk. Miss your unusually beautiful features and unique face shape (and ears). Miss your crow-black hair and pale skin. But we're so happy to see you in Dansk, shot by Scott Trindle and styled by John McCarty. We will always remember you after Miu Miu near the métro station close to the... [Lire la suite]

The Lasting Kind

Jenny Sinkaberg @ IMG First days in Paris, last season. Convo at an agency, heard from a reliable mouth: "I like Jenny as a person but she's not my type, let's see if she'll work well this week". Week went by, shows went on. Balenciaga, Kenzo, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino and Miu Miu to finish her season, quite a week to remember for the unusual blonde... Last night in Paris, last season. Dinner with friends, agents, scouts and a crazy dog barking an extended version of Singing in the Rain (or is it... [Lire la suite]

Silencious

Anna Selezneva @ Silent (Paris) Silent Models as the most silent agency ? Already used that pun a few times and thought it was big time to dive deeper into this idea. Let's go for... silencious, then. Last but not least among our special editorial features is another preview from Numéro 111 with Silent's icon Anna Selezneva (portraits, by Camilla Akrans) who made her marks almost everywhere one needs to make some -- from Vogue Italia to Vogue Paris, from runway to print and so on. Anna's career is handled... [Lire la suite]

Three, two, ONE, fire.

Debora Muller @ One (NY) and Amanda Laine (DNA) A few days to countdown but what countdown exactly ? Fashion week in New York or Vogue Italia in our favorite bookstore ? Both. But we still don't know which one we're waiting for (eagerly). Show packages we've seen so far have what it takes to get us enthusiastic about the newbies in town and first editorial preview of Vogue is pretty thrilling too (Jamie on the cover plus the story above, by Greg Lotus). Debora Muller is taking part of both, strengthening her editorial roster... [Lire la suite]

Teenage dreams are so hard to beat

Kate Kosushkina @ Supreme (NY) Title says Toy Soldier... thought it could be a remix of Toy Story and Dog Soldiers. Might be a little odd for Teen Vogue who may have borrowed it to some lyrics. Or whatever. Wherever. Cool idea and cool overall theme. Also cool to see some editorial stuff of Kate Kosushkina, still too rare on glossy paper yet (cute in V, though). This one by Nick Haymes could be a little masterpiece and a sort of avant-premiere, giving us a taste of how Kate works out some very specific atmospheres, creating... [Lire la suite]

Good Romance

Romana Umrianova @ Elite (Prague/Bratislava), Elite (Paris, Milan, London), Supreme (NY) Waiting for this for a little while: a brand new opportunity to talk about Romana. Don't remember the last time but it might be for Paris fashion week, RTW Spring 2010, as one of the girls who left us the strongest impression. Nice natural style and lots of energy behind that cute little face and endlessly leggy silhouette. So, what's next for Ms. Umrianova ? A few things for sure and two pages in current issue of L'Officiel Paris... [Lire la suite]

Dance and Dedication

Natasha Belobrovik @ Elite (Paris), Ford (NY) and Alice Fadeeva @ Next (Paris) Two FDIB-favorites in one of our beloved french magazine ? This is what we got two days ago during our weekly bookshop-trip. Previous issue of Dedicate offered us an overview of some new faces in Paris (including our Polish lovelies Kinga Lukomska and Malgosia Baclawska) through the eye of photographer Alexandre Brunet. The new one keeps the same level of excitement with a very special combo: Natasha Belobrovik and Alice Fadeeva. Both girls have been... [Lire la suite]

Ronnie Talk(ed) to Russia

Magdalena Frackowiak @ DNA (NY) Saw the cover and thought of some eighties oldies. Especially Ronnie, talk to Russia by German one-hit-wonder of 1988 (not sure, might be 87 or 89) Sheree. A young lady, an american flag and the end of Cold War coming soon. Our childhood, our history as well. A little more than twenty years later came that picture with no link to all these stories but one thing remains nonetheless. The aesthetic, the way Europeans see (and dream of) USA, apart from those french people that keep seeing greasy hamburgers... [Lire la suite]
