Fashion does it Better

Pearless

Pears taste so far, far away. Glitzy stones won't replace the fruity smell of flesh fallen from a lovely tree but we can try, we can stand the ache in our bodies, our bones, our chests, and indulge our eyes instead of grabbing the last syringe alive. Familiar names to warm up our always colder hears: Lindsey Wixson, the fishy goddess from Kansas, the golden witch from Wichita and Sophia Neophitou who could turn a stray dog into a fashion icon. The rain is hitting hard as we drop these lines, the sun moved away and the... [Lire la suite]

My Lady Zeroin

Sailing on a sea of wine, on the back of a dead pigeon we believed to be a white swan, then we landed on another Switzerland that wasn't swiss for a penny. And Katie Grand backstabbed us again, all we were bleeding was words and drunken delights. Anna Cleveland, leopard prints, nipples and craze from hair to painted toes, painted with pain and pride. Hens and trashcans, total paradise, lost in heavy heaven, somewhere up south. Life under legal substances like pricy food and cheap alcohol makes miracles when your eyes... [Lire la suite]

Diavola Ice-Cream

We took another slice, slept away, took another slice, another train, arrived on lemon grass, in a godforsaken station wishing we were in Paris, to suck all the glitz and glam of a part of the world, but no. High on the sidewalk, high on whatever powder, whatever hay, whatever liquid, we seriously didn't know and never will. Plastic bags are the sexiest thing on earth and we'll never know the taste of it, if you caress it, you may rest in peace, with chance. We are megakult, we drive too fast, we passed the lights, red or green,... [Lire la suite]

Eating mice while the boat is sinking

What about rats, more protein, too much protein, makes a big maybe but maybe sounds as lovely as tomorrow morning, if you have the good idea to keep the window blind. The boat is sinking for sure, captain went for lunch, the Kaiser is watching a bunch of sailors dance, with a kinky eye. Everybody is pissing in his violin, these days, everybody is puking in the ocean and it fueled our lust to throw smokey flowers at Katie Grant's piece of shit, well, of glossy paper, glossies are such a shitty ordeal for the eyes nowadays but some... Let's Dance (In A Brand New World)

Sasha Pivovarova @ IMG That's been the topic of almost all day. Let's dance and have some joy. No way to keep brewing the same old thoughts back and forth, from east to west and melt them in a crazy mix. Just light as bubbles, because we all need such feeling from time to time. And those are probably the pictures that bring this idea to life, bright fluorescent mood, somewhere between a recent past and close future, a moment dedicated to the instant without thoughts (or afterthoughts, or regrets, or plans, or... Head Over Heels

Maryna Linchuk @ DNA (NY), Viva (Paris) It was a little more than a year ago, our last feature on Maryna Linchuk. A couple of pictures and a flow of words, a deep analysis of what her walk at Prada meant to us and a few more on how much we were impressed by a very simple yet extremely efficient modeling performance. Cover-girl of Vogue Russia this month, Maryna does it again or even better, bringing up to life a story that would look pretty kinetic without the little touch of presence she adds to it. Basic fashion with... [Lire la suite]

Naturally

Daria Werbowy @ IMG In a world of stone, love will never be the same (again). In a softer world, it wouldn't be otherwise. Regardless of the fact everything surrounding us is stone or roses, cold or warm, rain or sun, love switches from one form to another relentlessly following the mood of the heart and eye. And the important is to stay natural, geniune and never get lost in transformations. No processed love, raw yet sweet does it better as always. Maybe that was the message from this spread from Canadian magazine... [Lire la suite]

They All Need A Star

Kristina Salinovic @ Women (NY), Daphne Groeneveld @ Supreme (NY) and Lindsey Wixson @ Marilyn (NY) Months and years come (and go somehow). And we grew up too old to make ourselves fools for mistaken love (or devotion). Inspiration is like months and years and comes and goes and comes back in the end for whoever is patient enough to wait and work. To people who considers this story and especially cover as a letdown from Steven Meisel and Vogue Italia we can only answer the perfromance is far from bad and that it's impossible to... April Fuels

Anna Selezneva @ Silent (Paris, NY) April Fuels was the perfect title for a post on a story named Flaming the Passion published on April Fools Day, actually coming from the May issue of the magazine. Jokes and puns aside, it's not a strange taste for cheesy wordplays that convinced us to write on this editorial but the haunting beauty glowing from each page. Just by reading two names involved in the team gives you a preview of the dream: Anna Selezneva and Hedi Slimane. Or more exactly Anna Selezneva by Hedi Slimane even if it... [Lire la suite]

Where You Find It

Yulia Terentieva @ New York Models (NY) and Nathalie (Paris) Despite the basic fact this kind of studio stories will never get us totally thrilled, there is something refreshing and a lot of high energy in this editorial from most recent issue of UK Elle. And quite a good dose of creativity to turn what could have totally uninspiring into a vivid spread that turns on your mood at the first second. It's spring and the atmosphere to this short story goes with it, both for the first sunny days of March and... [Lire la suite]
