Beyond The Mirror
Vanusa Savaris @ Nass (Brazil), FM (London), New York Models (NY), Women (Paris & Milan)
And Vanusa again. Third time maybe we publish a few lines on the brunette from Nass Models and it's always a pleasure to follow what her next little step will be (and look like). Today she comes in an editorial from Wonderland Magazine, sweet and severe moods mixing from page to page. Once again, it's too early to think about champagne bottles but the evolution goes its slow and steady way. Rome wasn't built in one night and so... [Lire la suite]25-03-11
Golden Grey
Dean @ Muse (NY)
Were thinking how about the title all afternoon, to give the right tune to this article and finally realised all was in the color. Or colors, or shades. Of grey. Why shall we call these photographs black and white when they are a soft and subtle combination of greys. But that would be a limited analyse to stop here, as it's not only a simple story of color shades. Or rather say their aspect embrace their atmosphere to creat some kind of harmony, visual peace hiding emotions and uncovering... [Lire la suite]25-03-11
More Now
Kelly Mittendorf @ Marilyn (NY)
Third time this week, third topic about Kelly Mittendorf and another opportunity to show another side of her work. You already saw her in a quiet mood on her images by Nando Esparza and had a glimpse at her recent digitals where we let you imagine another part of the story was on its way. And here we go. Kelly by Billy Kidd, capturing the crazy side yet not in the way you could expect. Extreme features would certainly work well for some spooky mood but the result is surprisingly... Can't Stop
Kelly Mittendorf @ Marilyn (NY)
Had a chance to meet with Nando Esparza last month, at his place in New York and if you're not too messy to write down an address correctly (as we are), you will surely enjoy the little trip up to Amsterdam Avenue then enjoy the photographer's inspiration even more. From his way to work, the detail that striked us most was his will to uncover everything others seem to hide and the patient yet easy-going manner he has to shoot until he captures the greatest.... Rocking and Whirling
Lisa-Marie Lipscomb @ Robert Black Agency / Ford Arizona (USA)
Like a wind of newness, like the weather today, like the imaginary wave crossing our minds. If our first post was deep (yet fully optimistic), our mood goes with newborn Spring this afternoon. Good vibrations, then. And good news for whoever is looking for fresh inspiration as well: today's second post features a new model, Lisa-Marie Lipscomb and a photographer we hope to count among the names that regularly appear on FDIB, Danno Watts.... Keep Love Alive
Allaire Heisig @ Ford (NY)
Bittersweet thoughts come and go and take your mood so high, so low. Like the wave following the moon that the shore will always seem to ignore. Lonely dreams are for lonely dreamers but feed the inspiration and keep love alive, through years and against fate, taking the strangest ways not to go off on a tangent. Love has no price and especially no pride, and for whoever believes time is on his side. Might be such a strange intro for a post dedicated to a girl who lightheartedly started... The King of The Ring
Kate King @ Elite (NY)
It was a "coup double" for us when we had the first opportunity to feature Kate King on FDIB earlier this year. New girl by new photographer, the kind of deal we love. Our attention was immediately caught by the classic beauty with a twist when New York-based photographer Nando Esparza shared with us his work with Kate and it quickly turned out to be one of the most exciting post we wrote lately. Sharp features on the model's side, high inspiration on the creative side and bright future in perspective for... [Lire la suite]08-03-11
Rejoice
Caterina Ravaglia @ Elite (Milan, Paris)
Every show season has its high and low moments and to be sincere with you readers, this one was full of radical changes of mood going from total boredom to the highest hopes. The most important might be to find a balance and let the rare moment of geniune excitement become inspirations for the future. Every little detail we notice that can strengthen our vision is worth to take as good sign and every moment that could lower our faith should be skipped as fast as we can... [Lire la suite]14-02-11
The Minute Between Now And Soon
Milly @ One (NY)
Let's keep a little more minutes away from the rush again even if this
time the topic isn't really disconnected to the current events in town
as Milly is here for the shows and that's partly why we feature her
again after a short intro with fresh digitals. Though, this time it's
clearly "the creative side of the week" that gets our complete attention
and you can't imagine how this is only the visible part of the iceberg.
Daytime reporters and undercover agents...... [Lire la suite]03-02-11
Last Minute
Anne Peck @ Modelwerk (Germany)
We were working on longer topics all day plus fixing all details before
fashion weeks start in seven days or so and a last minute arrival of
pictures changed our plans a little. Just a little, though, as it's
always like a refreshing break for our overloaded minds to dedicate
twenty or thirty minutes writing an express feature. News arrived from
London via Hamburg when Modelwerk forwarded us the latest materials from
their upcoming blond lady, Anne Peck. Shot on the... [Lire la suite]
