Fashion does it Better

New Kind

Rosanne @ Bloom Management (The Netherlands) Were speaking with a mother agent about new faces in the world (and the crazy world of new faces) yesterday. Could have held the convo forever, could have gone through all the details and almost did so. Much to say, not much left to see. Because this is the issue these days: we've seen it all. Seen them all. Been there, done that and that's it. Close the book and move on? Or try some parallel line, go down the alternative road? The latter could be the better. There is... [Lire la suite]

Perspective. Period.

Ana Gilca @ Mandarina (Romania), Next, Premier (London) Oh, we walk till dawn, from dusk till dawn. Without losing what we had in sight and without losing ourselves. Or just a little bit. The tiny little bit you need to keep it tuned with your current mood. We're losing grip sometimes but to get back on it as fast as one can. Ana Gilca didn't lose herself in Paris (nor she did in other cities she walked in) and gathered a lovely first season from London to the City of Lights. From all runway shots and editorials bits... Enough Is Never Enough

Melodie Monrose @ Wilhelmina (NY) We already talked about this topic a few days ago, the meaning of 'doing well' in modeling during a show season and if it's still difficult to find a proper universal answer, there still might be some individual definitions for these words. Obvious and natural, and models who perfectly embody such a definition. You can certainly count Melodie Monrose among them, as the young lady just finished a fabulous season launched by Wilhelmina in New York last month (Marc Jacobs, Max... [Lire la suite]

Every Now And Then

Odile Coco @ SPS (The Netherlands) From coast to coast, from East to West, from time to time and so on. Everything is matter of time and space in modeling if you see things from a certain angle and if for Odile Coco there is no real geographical parameter involved in her career, time certainly plays its role. Timing, as some would say and as new materials keep being added every now and then to her portfolio (rather now than then but the future might add some treasures to the pack as well), timing seems to be good for an... Like Snow In June

Andzelika Buivydaite @ Supermodels (Lithuania) New week, new wave, new weather. Sky is blue and air is cold, Fall is here for good and so does Andzelika, shortly introduced a few months ago. Strawberry-blond hair in October was the main idea behind our kooky romantic title but it could also be her peculiar beauty type that inspired us these words. Or the way her expressions seem to oscillate between moody and calm yet always impish and totally refreshing. With already some experience abroad (Game Model... [Lire la suite]

Frozen Tears

Valeria Kelava @ Ford (NY), Oui (Paris) Ending the season with a flawless week in Paris from Balenciaga to Miu Miu, from Givenchy to Louis Vuitton, from Rick Owens to Viktor & Rolf, from Giambattista Valli to Kenzo and sorry for the ones we've had to skipped, they would be worth a mention too. Flawless show-list and a good editorial kick to keep it all sky-high. Two stories in Vogue Italia's October issue would be enough to write a note even with no shows to back it up but the combination of both can be considered as an... [Lire la suite]

Great Things Take Time (And Happen)

Juju @ Nathalie (Paris) So long. We've been waiting and this might be the corollary of all our updates today. Slow and steady win the race, again. From upper level London shows to top Paris exposure, Juju Ivanyuk has been on our radar since day one and it's with a huge pleasure that we drop a few more lines tonight. Watching, waiting and seeing it happening, at last. Isn't this fabulous in the end? Patience is gold, more than ever this season when long time favorites like Nathalie's Juju (also signed with d'Management in... [Lire la suite]

And All Took That Turn

Anna Piirainen @ Brave (Milan) Life is quite ironical sometimes. First feature of the week, first one post-fashion week was dedicated to a girl with that slow-and-steady career pattern and from there we jump to one of the latest Givenchy girls. Well, not that ironical if you remember Rasa's debuts and, again, not so much when you had the opportunity to have a quick talk with Anna's agent from Brave Models, carefully explaining how the plans for the model are to go step by step with everything, treating her career as... Who, Baby, Who Will Save The World (It's Not Too Late)

Rasa Zukauskaite @ Next Between relief and bitternesss. Two words that should fit for the state of mind of many people involved or following the show season. Relieved as the frenzy is over now, no rush anymore and atmosphere feels lighter again. Bitter or bittersweet when something important hasn't come true (yet?) or when all went too fast and you keep in mouth and mind the taste of missed opportunities. Despite the comments of some observers, Rasa Zukauskaite's season shouldn't bring any frustration or biterness to anyone... [Lire la suite]

We Hear Violins, You Know What It Means

At this stage it's not a show package anymore or a show-doc as we say in Paris, it's a symphony. From every point of view: the pace, the music, the visuals running in front of your eyes when you're watching this (not-so) short movie, literally stuck to your screen. Video packages are getting more and more popular these days and each agency might have its own version of the excercise, trying themselves at it with more or less success. IMG probably worked it out perfectly on one point at least: the way it pictures the agency,... [Lire la suite]
