The Lasting Kind

Jenny Sinkaberg @ IMG First days in Paris, last season. Convo at an agency, heard from a reliable mouth: "I like Jenny as a person but she's not my type, let's see if she'll work well this week". Week went by, shows went on. Balenciaga, Kenzo, Sonia Rykiel, Valentino and Miu Miu to finish her season, quite a week to remember for the unusual blonde... Last night in Paris, last season. Dinner with friends, agents, scouts and a crazy dog barking an extended version of Singing in the Rain (or is it the other way... [Lire la suite]

Silencious

Anna Selezneva @ Silent (Paris) Silent Models as the most silent agency ? Already used that pun a few times and thought it was big time to dive deeper into this idea. Let's go for... silencious, then. Last but not least among our special editorial features is another preview from Numéro 111 with Silent's icon Anna Selezneva (portraits, by Camilla Akrans) who made her marks almost everywhere one needs to make some -- from Vogue Italia to Vogue Paris, from runway to print and so on. Anna's career is handled... [Lire la suite]

Anastasiia C.

London is over soon, pretty strange season there (again). We remember the days when newbies could spread their wings in the brit city but hype striked back and the epic crew of N.Y.N.F. (New York New Faces) with it. So, on the newcomer side this time, the number of breakthrough made in UK decreased again, apart from Kirsi Pyrhonen who took off like a 6'0 lightning. Though, numerous promising girls made their debuts in the shadows of London shows, among them our very own Anastasiia. So, we though we should dedicate a few lines to... [Lire la suite]

The Svea Spring Show

Svea Kloosterhof @ CODE (The Netherlands) Spring seems back today (maybe not for good but let's hope) and when we feel Spring, we seriously need freshness. Craving for light-hearted moods and good vibrations, uptempo melodies and gorgeous pictures. Showtime surely makes the atmosphere slightly heavy and we're struggling a little to keep our heads out of the fashion waters, keep the rythm not to get stressed out before the end, mid-March. Best thing to help and cheer up is a short topic on a promising young... [Lire la suite]

Now everbody wants a fake ice-cream

Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands) Already featured Valerie a few times recently and our little fingers told us it's not about to stop soon. Editorials are literally pouring in her book these days and we're certainly not unhappy with this. Piece of today is from italian edition of Grazia and quality goes above the usual standards of the mag (even if it wouldn't be the first time we dig out some jewels there). A teaspoon of awkwardness keeps her as fresh as can be though she got more confident... [Lire la suite]

Bitten by a Tiger-Lily

Lia Serge @ Avant (Moscow), Elite (NY), Elite (Paris) Made sense to us to publish a post on Karl Rothenberger's work today, right after our extended feature on Kristiina's coverage. After all, Karl's pictures were among the first ones to teach us the importance of a great aesthetic when it comes to backstage materials. His collection of fashion week shots shows how important it is to treat each as a scene and the whole as an atmosphere. Was for the artistic side, for the model agent-point of view it's... FDIB loves and bookmarks: Dossier Journal's NY coverage by Kristiina Wilson

Alexa Yudina and Irina Kazhamiakina @ Women (NY), the AL girls were beyond playful at Costello Tagliapetra. Jacquelyn Jablonski @ Ford (NY), Ford's force and FDIB's favorite at VPL Elena Ivanova @ Wilhelmina (NY), becoming one of our absolute favorites these days -- strong features, fragile look at Thuy Georgia Hilmer @ Next (NY), another favorite featured a few days ago, loved her shirt (again!) at VPL Bregje Heinen @ Women Direct (NY), Micha's muse is stealing spotlights even when she's lost in her thoughts at VPL Alina Krasina... In Bed with Heels

Luisa Bianchin @ Joy (Milan) In bed with heels, quite a beautiful and contrasted picture and a perfect topic on a Sunday morning. Though, we just love people who are working seven days a week and Joy Milan seems to be that kind. We got Luisa's story by Johan Sandberg after brunch today and didn't think more than one minute and half before making out decision to feature it within the afternoon. Short bio on Luisa -- discovered by AM Model Management, german boutique then immediately sent under Joy's very... [Lire la suite]

One more time

Alicia Kuczman @ One (NY) Heard of her complete domination over brazilian catwalks a few weeks ago (with Way Sao Paulo) but we must confess we hadn't followed previous fashion weeks (from Brazil to Couture via Berlin) very carefully. The big shock came with Michelle Lee's pola, actually. A simple shot with a yellow shade highlighting an incredible bone structure and translucent eyebrows. That was our first moment thinking of Alicia Kuczman as one of our favorite girls for Fall 2010. Didn't even know who signed her in NY (guessed who... [Lire la suite]

Independent spirit

Indiamara @ IMG Loved Rodarte's outfits and casting -- especially a thrilling triad made of Juana @ NY Models, Malu @ Women Direct and the girl who's going to haunt this post: Indiamara @ IMG. Pretty atypical look for an IMG-girl and second time in a row the international powerhouse takes us by surprise this season. We were smitten by Lindsay at Alexander Wang, we almost fainted after seeing how Indiamara was perfect for Rodarte's show. The mood was quite lighter, hence the heavy need for dark/moody young ladies to enhance the... [Lire la suite]
