Fashion does it Better

Made in Germany

Anne Sophie Monrad @ Modelwerk (Hamburg), Ford (NY) Made in Germany. These words often stands for quality, no matter what the topic is. It's well-known, and most of times, well said because truth is german products are often...well, well done. We're not talking about products, though, or if one product is in the spotlight today it might be a service: Modelwerk's precise and precious management. But the real heart of this story, you understood it, is the girls themselves. Made in Germany, then and made in Modelwerk, actually. Anne... [Lire la suite]

Mandarinaction: Anna Gorcea, Part Three

Anna Gorcea @ Mandarina (Romania) The atmosphere is warm and cold at the same time, just like the weather today. Not that unusual but a wind of change is blowing in background. Anna Gorcea in our Mandarinaction story, part three. By Robert Petreanu, as always. First batch of pictures was intriguing, second was inspiring, third is... experimental. If it's a kind of visual experimentation (especially for test shots), after thinking twice we remembered it just belongs the essence of modeling. Models... [Lire la suite]

Limelight News

Emma Dumont @ Ford (NY) We closed last week with Emma and start this one with her again. Going round but tuned for the future, might be the mood of the day. First thing, we believed it was quite useful and lovely to show how the cute and ethereal Emma can turn into a sophisticated model with a little (and a little only) styling. Sleek black and white allows us to put our finger on another side of her potential while she proved her best asset is definitely this delicate fagile look, which doesn't fade away once seen through another... V like Victories, F like Ford

Emma @ Ford (NY) Okay, it's almost 11pm and we've got headaches and itching eyes. Whatever, who cares. Some news can't wait and tomorrow is too late. Just got one of the most georgeous mail (loved the way it was written too) with one of the most promising girl of these last week. It took us to open it to wake up again and postpone our little rest. Ford's winner from their V magazine contest is worth to stay one more hour under the artificial light. Isn't she delicate and graceful ? Emma is a real ballerina... [Lire la suite]

Things and Feelings that are Obvious

Rebecca Chandler @ Elite (NY) After getting FM's powerful duet a few days ago, we found Elite's this morning. And felt today was the day to start putting more emphasis on what aesthetic counts for which agency. Elite's seems clear: 5'11 and faces you can't forget. Rebecca, Givenchy's darling, was featured here a few months ago, showcasing her editorial power. Tonight, we're focusing on her natural look. White wall/black floor, white top/black trousers and Rebecca without any make-up. Raw as can be and as simple as it seems. And you... [Lire la suite]

Marike Le Roux @ Wilhelmina (NY) and Alana Zimmer @ Supreme (NY) Wasn't planned! But we couldn't resist. First, the colorful visuals were perfect to balance and then, Rykiel's red looked awesome with our new layout. Perfect day, isn't it ? If we want to look at the new campaign through the artist's eye, we'd say the atmosphere (warm night at the end of Summer ? Twilight in September) just enhance the vivid colors again while the two faces of Sonia Rykiel Spring 2010 are a perfect match as well. Timeless features,... [Lire la suite]

Mandarinaction: Anna Gorcea, Part Two

Anna Gorcea @ Mandarina (Romania) After launching the intro yesterday evening, it was time to dive into the real topic. Anna Gorcea (by Robert Petreanu). Well, you already know. What you might not, is how this potential translates once it goes closer to the camera. And how she handles sleek, quiet expressions then extreme expressions, making faces with those huge retro glasses (we said "diving into the topic" and couldn't describe it better). Ready to explore Anna's world through Robert's lens, via 10... [Lire la suite]

Two of the FM Kind

Sadie Newman @ FM (London), Ford (NY) Dark hair and pale skin, winning combo ? Seems so, especially when you push both at their extremes. It's not the first an agency gives a try to that look but it has recently reached a very special level at FM, London. Two girls of this kind are seeing their career opportunities growing sky-high while their future looks more promising than ever. Don't want to jinx anything so, let's simply put it that way: development is wonderfully done with major materials. Editorials... [Lire la suite]

Mandarinaction: Anna Gorcea, Part One

Anna Gorcea @ Mandarina (Romania) We've been a bit slow, a bit silent these days but don't worry, it only means we are cooking something special in the shadows. The office became a bunker and we've got no more time to sleep. Back into the light, Mandarina is getting quite fast these days. Development was already one of the agency's best strength, these last weeks saw its rise to another level. Image pushed at its max (for now) and creativity enhanced by new talents from the heart of Romania. Photographer Robert Petreanu hit the... [Lire la suite]

Marie's Trademark

Marie @ Bloom Management (The Netherlands) We did a feature on Daphne, latest promising rookie at Union Models in London and were already glad to hear about such a brilliant newcomer. But one surprise can't hide another and we've just heard about Daphne's mother agency, newborn boutique from Amsterdam, Bloom Management. And, as we say in France (and elsewhere probably): jamais deux sans trois. Never two without three. So, third news is no other than the beauty pictured above. Marie, turning 16 next month and...
