Fashion does it Better

Get out of the shell !

Miriama Becikova @ Elite (Prague/Bratislava) Already Monday ? No, still Sunday... But there are definitely new faces we remember faster than others, girls that catch our eyes within the first second we see their book and we can't get them out of our head. One of the last time this happened was when discovered Romana Umrianova. Wait a minute... you're right, a girl from Elite just like Miriama. Blond hair and blue eyes have never looked that unusual (as odd as it seems) than on her face. We guess it's a matter of features and... [Lire la suite]

Relax, Baby, Everything will turn out fine...

Shall we call it a soft comeback or simply admit that modelling careers are going high then low, easy come-easy go, these days ? We'd go for the second option without hesitating. Things aren't as linear as they could seem before, careers are getting more complicated to follow and almost every single model has to choose between her work and school duties at least two times a year. When you put all these criterias together, it becomes impossible to judge if a girl is really on the right slope or not. You can take a deep... [Lire la suite]

Quintessentially Morwenna

Morwenna @ Premier (London) Seems like today's topic is tall strawberry-blondes: Morwenna is 5'10"5 (179) and got warm blond locks to remember as well. We're usually not fond of December holidays but we surely don't mind some present in advance like the polas above. Currently in London (quite the place to be for a quintessentially british girl), we should stay tuned for more of those playfully melancholic (!!) gazes she gives to the camera. Half laid-back, half dramatic and dreamy all the... [Lire la suite]

No Face, No Name, No Twitter

Marloes Horst @ Joy (Milan), Next (NY, Paris, London), Ulla (The Netherlands) After ten days spent under another sky (or let's better say under other skies), first things we saw while turning on our good-old and delightfully slow computer are some brand new covers. December issues. Holidays pre-taste (and pretexts) or new year/new vibe concepts are making a few waves around us. Or in front of us, right in our eyes. Right in the target ? We guess not. We won't have to spend too much lines explaining that we... [Lire la suite]

Ford Finale in the Baltics: 48 Hours and 5 Winners

Megija Twenty four hours to come and twenty four hours tomorrow to go back to full-time blogging. Fourty eight hours with a lot of action in between. Riga was supposed to be a cold place at this time of the year but we only have hot news. Ford Supermodel of World's finale for Baltic countries took place less than two days ago and the winners are just as impressive as the contest's name. Five girls were selected for the World Finale in Sao Paulo but all the contestants are actually worth a few lines. So, we're going to make it in two... [Lire la suite]

Time went twice as fast

Sedene @ New York Models Working till midnight and beyond, waking up at seven tomorrow. Well, today if you prefer. Time has its own way to run, rush and even fly. So fast. For Sedene too, time is getting crazy and her career started at the highest speed as soon as she arrived at New York Models. Some girls have to stay weeks, months, seasons or even years in the shadows of development while Sedene's debuts were like a serene walk into the spotlights. Nothing is out yet but all on the way and beyond promising. The list of... [Lire la suite]

Meet Mariana !

Mariana @ Specimen Model Management Specimen is already well-known for their extra-strong men's board but if you are not focused on male models (just like us) you might not be so much aware of it. Though, if you've got both eyes wide open on girls doing great right now, you can't have overlooked Marike this season. And, in case you didn't know it before, she's one of these precious jewels you'll always find at Specimen. If you like Marike, you surely haven't overlooked Maddie as well, newbie at Supreme who's got a couple... [Lire la suite]

Viktoriya's Secrets

Viktoriya Sasonkina @ Women (NY) and Karlie Kloss @ Next (NY) The title was easy to find this week, timing helped a lot and the pun was fun, set and done. Well, we don't have much time left for procrastination tonight so we're not going to turn around the jerrican (in French we use "turn around the pot" but we thought it was a lot fancier to turn around a jerrican): this piece is dedicated to Viktoriya Sasonkina and (almost) nothing or no one else. It all started while reading Sans Artifice two days ago or so. Some bright... [Lire la suite]

Just say no, baby, no

Is what you read between the lines what you really wanted to know ? Is what you see what you thought you were supposed to get ? Is there any kind of honesty in those visuals, hanging on the wall like dead fishes drying in the heavy sunlight of the afternoon ? Is there anything there worth to get out of your bed, get up and walk that way, push that incredibly heavy door ? Was there any line written in any rotten newspaper that was able to push you out of that bed and make you push that same old door ? Why do you keep your... [Lire la suite]

Valerija Kelava @ Next and Jenny Sinkaberg @ IMG Two more girls we mentioned recently, two girls who were actually the most striking newcomers we've met during the shows in Paris. Valerija Kelava, Next's wildcard of the season and Jenny Sinkaberg, a different kind of blonde from IMG. Unique beauties seem to have a bright future on glossy paper, beginning with Dazed & Confused, December issue (by Kacper Kasprzyk, styled by Mattias Karlsson). Network girls as well, as both are...
