Fashion does it Better

Riding on Cloud Number Nine

Kristy Kaurova @ Major (NY), Major (Paris) The nineties. The decade we lived without living them for real, just passing by and keeping a few lost memories we're not sure they're really ours. The legends and lost loves from the nineties... Jonathan Leder had the good idea again to send us his latest pieces she shot with another of our favorite girls, Kristy Kaurova who reminds him of the nineties vibes. Something we see without seeing it, depending on which nineties we're talking about. Whatever, we love... [Lire la suite]

Three of Nine

Sofia Luna, Camille and Carolin @ Nine Daughters and a Stereo (Germany) Amica remains the ultimate avant-garde source for new faces among international magazines and after featuring the girls from Silent in their previous Casting series, they focused on the concept agency from Cologne for this new issue. Nine Daughters and a Stereo or how a clear (and clean) image can work out your models presentation and promotion. Snapshots in white outfits on a white background tunes their website where you'll find a very intriguing... [Lire la suite]

Yellow Short Stories

Mihaela Mihnea @ Mandarina (Romania), Major (Paris) You will often hear that love makes one blind. Can be true. Sometimes and somehow. Could be the other way round as well. Too blind to love happens too. Having a good eye is great, keeping it open is much better. Even on Saturdays as good girls don't call before knocking at your door... Well, this is in general. For Mihaela in particular, the story is already different. Signed with Major in Paris, she was exactly the second girl we've met during fashion weeks... [Lire la suite]

Wildfire of the Vanities

Natalie Keyser @ Elite (NY), Storm (London) It took her a second to become one of our all-time favorite models but building a book takes much longer. Months, seasons, years soemtimes as a career needs to be handled step by step. It takes time, good surprises, good opportunities and good-looking tearsheets to build a portfolio which really gives a true overview of the girl's potential. And once again surprises, opportunities and tearsheets came from UK Elle. Once again, we fell in love with the new issue of the magazine and... [Lire la suite]

Be Seen on your own Scene

Merel Zoet @ SPS (The Netherlands) Development goes on, regardless of what the storm will blow away a few meters away from where you (want to) sit down. Some days (some nights as well) you should rather believe in your seat (chair, sofa and even bed) and what your eyes will tell you. Watching Merel's development is quite quiet compared to what happened or may happen for other girls who were at the same place a few years and seasons ago. Changes always take place at every single moment, everything has to move, evolve and... [Lire la suite]

Fresh, Fresh, Fresh

Stella Maxwell @ Viva (Paris) You might be used to our features on Amica's Casting series but now we're all about Dedicate's story dedicated to fresh faces in Paris shot by Alexandre Brunet, a photographer we discovered during fashion week. We loved his work, his vision, goals and, more than anything else, the way he talks about his favorite models. A new way to see models as muses from Freja Beha Erichsen who might have played a serious role in building his aesthetic and training his eye to Stella Maxwell just... [Lire la suite]

Two in a Million

Rachel Pouwer @ SPS (The Netherlands) After the SPS girls at Select, the SPS girls at Premier. Still in London, though, where development is going on and getting (well) done. Two more jewels from the Dutch boutique won't hurt our eyes and deserve their own bunch of words. Rachel looks so romantic on her new polaroids, pictured as an ethereal rock-chic by Premier's expert camera, she's definitely the girl for the job if you're looking for a delicate yet dramatic atmosphere. Pink cheeks and black leather... [Lire la suite]

We're No Geeks Anymore

Charlotte @ Model Plus (Poland) and Karolina Mikolajczyk @ D'Vision (Poland) Latest issue of K Magazine was completely stolen by photographer Lukasz Zietek who shot the cover, this editorial styled by Aleksandra Kintop above plus a male model story and the computer theme was perfect for his own inspirations like Radiohead and the Internet. Waves and vibes, speed of sound and light. And speed of life in general as time doesn't have time anymore just to pass by. Running, running. The two girls are... [Lire la suite]

Wanted: Julie

Julie Kass @ PMST After introducing Blu a few weeks ago during our trip in Paris (or just before), we strike back with another fresh face from PMST. Julie is quite taller at 5'11 (180 82-60-88) and looks ready for the victory with that dramatic gaze of hers, catching our eyes from simple snaps. And if by any chance you're interested in Julie, make sure to request her video - the way she moves is a true rarity, especially for a girl who's only beginning. Presence, charisma, freshness and a teaspoon of innocence... mix it and... [Lire la suite]

Express It

Kristina Vasilyeva @ Women (Milan) It. The little "it" that says a lot but remains hard to explain whatever happens. It, again. Kristina has it and, even more important, knows how to express "it". This unusual little thing that makes pictures look so good from every angle, this extra dose of expressive gazes and impish faces that makes our eyes shine again and our heart melt. Something we've felt before and we'll experience again but that seems so rare, everytime. So precious. Slightly off the poetry yet... [Lire la suite]
