Fashion does it Better

The Muse and The Musemaker

Alena Smolyaruk @ Major (NY) A muse in making. How does this start, how often and so on. Questions left without answers, inspiration never tells where its roots are. Too far, too close. Whatever. Inspiration can come fast as a lightning or slowly, slowly, slowly (but taking you by storm when you clearly don't expect it at all). That's why working closely with photographers is always a plus for us, their vision of new girls in town will always be slightly different from ours and even from the agent's.... [Lire la suite]

Sunbathing is Serious

Angelica Sulzbach @ Way (Brazil) We love the rays of light and the sudden shadows, the giant eyelashes and the way it all looks so Brazilian. Mixing a gorgeous warm shade of brown, blue eyes and delicate freckles, Angelica Sulzbach might have found the look that fits for her. The right combination of colors, able to enhance her expressions. A touch of melancholy and that overall easy-going, carefree mood. The black and white chequered swimsuit, the way she works this out. Brilliant job from her captivating gaze and flawless... [Lire la suite]

Look Number One

Valerija Kelava @ Next (NY, Paris, London, Milan) Yesterday we did a close-up feature on Ursula and just thought we should also drop a few lines on Valerija again. TMSRRE number six of the season and look number one at Christopher Kane, she's definitely one we want to keep in mind right now. She caught our eyes for her dark look just before the show started for her dark, moody and sophisticated looks, pale skin and raven fringe. All in the powerful gaze, in the subtle expressions (that one above tells you perfectly) and... [Lire la suite]

Meet Lotte !

Lotte Van Heuvel @ BM Model Management (The Netherlands) Clock is on and after a short break (one hour) we're back again, with a new face this time. Fourteen only (fifteen soon) and 5'11 (180) already, redhead and red hot, the second Lotte from BM Model Management in The Netherlands was the perfect one for this evening next to Daiane, Lindsey, Ursula and Marike. Looks you don't see everyday and you don't forget easily. At this age and this stage in one's career we can only call it natural or innate talent to pose and express... [Lire la suite]

Going nuts right under the roof

Daiane Conterato @ Supreme (NY) Sounds like our short trip to our favorite bookstore turned out to be one of the best in months. First Lula and now Bon. Sensational contents from page one to the end of the book, silky smelly paper on the cover and a lot to read. Among the last features is a piece dedicated to Haider Ackermann and, funny fact, we were just talking about his show with one of our favorite Dutch mother agent. The looks and aesthetics on various catwalks. And naturally, Haider Ackermann came in mind... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 13: Marike

Marike @ Wilhelmina (NY) "You are what you wear it's true". According to this, Marike is a true treasure, after a hectic week in NY. Even if we would just remember Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs among the several other high level shows walked, it's a real event and calls for celebration. Or at least to drop a few lines like we're doing right now. Marike or the secret cooking at Wilhelmina leading to a sensational creature able to catch any coveted catwalk. Count the silhouette (oh la la, legs -... [Lire la suite]

Countryside, Countrywide ?

Lindsey Wixson @ Marilyn (NY) Moody pout plus melancholic gaze and endless legs are the first thing you may notice on the runway when Lindsey walks. Vivid and playful attitude is what catch your attention once she goes backstage and the portrait is far from finished. Her book was carefully build with the helping hands (and cameras) of James Mahon or Marilyn's Dean Rodgers among others, capturing every single side of Lindsey's potential but leaving untouched the biggest part of the mystery. We started to discover more of... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 12: Ursula

Ursula @ FM (London) Yesterday we were speechless and breathless when we saw her walking for Christopher Kane. Immediately thought of a report on her. Could have done it overnight but we were right to wait a little longer. A matter of hours, as the missing piece of the puzzle just arrived and left us speechless and breathless once again. Tears we cried were tears of joy this time. Magical moments that we didn't even expected. Ursula belongs to our favorite models since the day we noticed her first. Something... [Lire la suite]

Don’t call these black and white

Meghan Collison @ Supreme (NY) A boy and a girl, a young man and a young woman, a man and a woman. And so on. Honestly, not our favorite topic as you might know we are entirely devoted to female models and our page is hundred percent dedicated to them. So, tonight we'll talk about a different combo as our usual multi-girls editorials, even more as the pictures above are taken from Levi's European campaign (and you might have noticed we don't feature many campaigns). And, as it's not mentioned under the picture, the... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 11: Aymeline

Aymeline Valade @ Women Direct (NY), Women (Milan), Women (Paris) We were already impressed by polas and prints, she suddenly caught our eyes again. Walking for Elise Overland first. Then again on last days of New York shows as look number two at Threeasfour, one of the collection that left a mark in our minds from there this season. Presence on the runway, attitude backstage and true talent for editorials are often a formula that works well. Anytime. And for a timeless beauty like Aymeline, this should... [Lire la suite]
