Fashion does it Better

Meet Lotte !

Lotte Keijser @ BMM (The Netherlands) Between two worlds and two atmosphere, we took a short break at tea time. We worked hard until late at night and thought our next update had to wait a little before outdating the five posts from yesterday, starting with a fresh face from the Netherlands. Lotte Keijser comes from Dutch boutique BM Model Management and starts with a youthful look (14-years-old) but already a true talent for poses/expressions. It's called born to model and agencies that have a chance to work with girls like... [Lire la suite]

FORD Does It Better

Lakshmi Menon @ Ford (NY) Some agencies want their girls to get their slice of spotlights even before the shows begin. Some others are quite quick to update us even during the rush and a few ones only consider it worth to tell us something when the shows are over for a little while. Ford NY belongs to none of these groups, their strategy includes both the efficiency of releasing the info in time and the wisdom of those who know to wait until the perfect moment. To tell it clearly: never too early, never too... [Lire la suite]

Frequency Modulation

Aysche Tiefenbrunner @ FM (London) Aysche Tiefenbrunner, the fab find from German boutique AM Model Management, found her home in London right in time for the shows. Just arrived and added to FM's show package, Aysche confirms our expections and strengthens our hopes. And love keeps growing after three features on her already. We were asking ourselves back in July if she was becoming a new FDIB-classic and it seems the latest polas could give us the answer. A clue, at least. Halfway between totally... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 7: Paulina

Paulina Nierodzik @ Mango (Poland), Next (NY) She walks and it walks. In French we use that idiomatic expression to say something is going well - ça marche, literally it walks. French words that brings back some good old memories from Paris, back to the day we met Paulina Nierodzik for the first time, backstage at Vivienne Westwood. The young lady, found and cherished by Next Paris went her own way little by little, step by step before arriving in New York. First season, hopes reloaded and better beware if you didn't believe... A History of High Class

Edita Vilkeviciute @ Viva (Paris, London), DNA (NY), Why Not (Milan) "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" has never been so true, talking about Edita Vilkeviciute. Not that there would be many people to disagree with the fact she's obviously beautiful but we guess the way people describe her beauty could differ a lot from one perception to the other. And that's no real wonder, after all. Edita is perfectly versatile, shows up here then disappears and comes back where you will never... [Lire la suite]

Bradford is Blogging: Backstage is Bubbling

Jules Mordovets @ IMG (NY) Time is running fast and Bradford is blogging. That's the biggest news of the week so far, apart from the shows results of course. For anyone wondering what a talented photographer can do when he can't do tests, Bradford Gregory's blog will give a detailed poetic answer. We love the personal approach, the atmosphere on his shots and, as you may guess, the titles of his post. Just brilliant and worth to check daily this week. First pic we picked from it is Jules Mordovets at Zac Posen. Always classy and... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 6: Valerija

Valerija Kelava @ Next Casting at Rodarte was the best surprise of the week so far. Extended. Expensive. Several beauty types, contrasts working hand in hand, daring choices. All the ingredients were here and even if we're able to spot them one by one it still smells like magic. Just as the whole atmosphere or the styling did. First of all it was the first opportunity to see Viktoriya Sasonkina walking this season. Then, Rodarte was the place where a few girls took off. Finally. Juana Burga looked... [Lire la suite]

These Moments in Between

Ieva Laguna @ Premier (London) and Charlotte Di Calypso @ One (NY) One of these moments in a season you don't know where to look at. Shall we enjoy the present and analyse the castings show after show, day by day or shall we focus on London already ? We went for a mixed approach as you can see from our latest posts. Reports on New York and introducing the fresh crop just arrived on the other side of the ocean. Getting stuck to the one or the other would be a tragedy for everyone excited about both the unknown... I Talk with my Hands, I Walk on my Feet

Svetlana Mukhina @ FM (London) First striking fact about Svetlana Mukhina's new polaroids from FM Models is what she does with her hands, the elegance of uncanny movements and poses. And even beyond the hands and arms, her body language is truly awesome from head to toe including the way she holds her head and that piercing gaze of hers. Russian discovery of Eskimo, non-stop provider of excellent new faces wordlwide, she started to catch our attention for her rather unusual face despite some close... [Lire la suite]
