Fashion does it Better

Seriously Smells like September

Megan Jones @ Marilyn (Paris) The difference between a few pictures and a movie probably comes from the way photography can bring old atmospheres from a long-gone era back to life. Pictures are static but tells a lot more about the character pictured than words and motions together. It's a magic or a mystery even if the process (press the button, capture, put on paper then let the viewer watch) is well-known and most likely the same each time it happens. Back to the heart of our topic, of our day and beyond, cute blondes... [Lire la suite]

You can't run and She can't hide

Katharina Friedrich @ Place (Hamburg), Supreme (NY) She already went throught the usual (but still unpredictable) polaroid-makeover by Paul Rowland with Supreme's instant classic, leopard-printed outfit. Her name should be on every reputable notebook, her face should have caught every good eye, her book is on the right slope and there is most likely a bright (near) future ahead of her. After featuring Romana yesterday, we got goodies from Katharina's german book, right from the source to make sure we... [Lire la suite]

Obvious is no good, Hidden does it better

Charlotte Bos @ Nathalie (Paris) Take the sleekest blonde in town and send her to Jessie Craig (who's starting a brand new life in London now) and you get something spooky and whimsical. Unexpected and breathtaking. Take any good old cliché a let a good eye smash it till you see some wicked pieces of it thrown all over a visual fireworks. Take the naturally shy-looking Charlotte, wake her up in another world and morph her into the moody character of dark tale.Charlotte Bos was a part of Elle Italia's blond gang including... Right in Time

Romana Umrianova @ Elite (Prague), Supreme (NY) Our passion for new faces grew up with Supreme's polaroid-makeovers a few years ago when a girl we were watching for a couple of months suddenly appeared as the newest member of the coveted board in NY with the kind of stylish materials that became its trademark. Since these days, the good-old shock from Supreme's website has been replaced by some hot news popping up by half-surprise on The Imagist but the thrill remains the same - rocking, shocking and... Two girls and Two times Two letters

Lelde Malina @ FM (London) Lelde Malina. Unique gaze, innate sweetness and much power. Got to be the one who works out that mix. You won't find many girls, in town or internationa, that can handle so many contrasts at the same time and who turns them into her very own assets. 2B Models, Lelde's mother agency in Latvia, build their reputation in the fashion world for the unique-looking girls they know how to find and after Nikole (both also with Ford NY) or the newest of the new Jolanta (featured yesterday, see... Boost that Book

Mirte Maas @ Women (NY) The girl who holds her head in a very singular way, with that expression telling you straight ahead "I dare you to look better than I do". Or maybe that's just an impression and the power of pictures making its effect. Truth is that Mirte is one of the most incredibly lovely model in town (NY this time, London last time) who drives everybody crazy from clients to creative. It took her a couple of days only to build a tremedous book with the help of some of our favorite photographers: Maxim Repin (first... [Lire la suite]

We saw her Face on our Laptop's Screen

Debora Muller @ One (NY) Some days we have to request the girls we'd like to feature and some nights the right models pop up like angels. It takes a camera and a stop at the agency or the studio to enhance a book for them, no rush but the pace speeds up naturally. Last time we featured Debora was when her latest pola sheet from One was released, next time might be next week. Now it's all about the moment, the instant feeling. In the vein of dramatic girls who wanna have fun, Debora gave all she's got to über-talented,... [Lire la suite]

Meet Jolanta !

Jolanta Hlinova @ 2B Models (Latvia) Emergency this morning, between the first and second cup of coffee. 2B Models' latest latvian find has such a unique look that makes you postpone any breakfast plan. That's what we did as once we started checking out her freshly-taken snaps we couldn't take our eyes off them. There is a very singular vibe about them and, of course, about Jolanta. A mix of sweetness and strength in the most perfect proportions: a teaspoon of cuteness, a lot of freshness, a wild hairdo which seems... [Lire la suite]

A Subtle Wind of Coolness

Kinga Lukomska @ FM (London) Who doesn't run in NY next work has to rush to London. If there is no specific plan in Milan or Paris, indeed. So, good girls are slowly starting to land in british agencies now and the first nice surprises are already in town. Among them is Kinga Lukomska, big-time all-time favorite of ours and muse of photographer Sarah Moon. Kinga's got this amazing ability to refresh her look forever, making each appearance a little different from the previous one. This time we're falling for... [Lire la suite]

Laila and Friends

Laila Pudule, Kaya Wilkins and Deana Noop @ FM (London), Heather Koenitzer and Anna Tatton @ Bookings (London) The Return of the Independent Spirit. A title has never been that true. True to the atmosphere, true to the magazine (POP's brand new version), to the photographer Jason Evans and to all the young models featured in this story. As this is where we always put the strongest emphasis, we'll focus on the casting once again. Three FM girls including Laila Pudule (from 2B Models in Latvia and among our... [Lire la suite]
