No Expectation Leads to Pleasant Surprises

These days you ask yourself why you are doing what you usually do, why you even had to turn on the computer again... These days, even these days may hide some nice surprises. That's a bit the story right here, right now and that's how we ended up delighted (again) with Harper's Bazaar UK's weekly model report, this time dedicated to Amanda Googe whose advice to beginners in the business is ''no expectation leads to pleasant surprises''. Just what we experienced today and what her career looks like so far. While most model... [Lire la suite]

Driving Cars and Sometimes Going to Places

As promised, as due. Here is perhaps the new one that transformed our week: India Ruiterman. Imagine endless editorial possiblities from these photographs (a mix with some polaroids from her London agency and shots by Olesya Asanova). She's got such a wide range of faces (and profiles!) in store and many vibes to send to a magazine reader, like heavenly X-rays. And, without willing to sound pedantic for a single sec but the greatest eye of this country said she is a good pick for that page (getting truly schizophrenic,... [Lire la suite]

Release The Butterfly

Merethe Hopland @ Joy (Milan), Modelwerk (Hamburg), Elite (London) Sometimes, you know, we are tired of looking like this, you know. Doing what we do, the way we do it. We all need a breathe (or a breeze?) of fresh air to re-energize ourselves and get the necessary strength to move on to new horizons. It often takes a kick, a thrill or whatever (leaving you the choice of the vocable here) to look to the future. Getting back on tracks, back to basics yet never looking back without denying what the legacy of... [Lire la suite]

Way ahead of the game

Hind Sahli @ DNA (NY), Elite (Paris), Elite (Milan), Elite (London) It's been a little while since we introduced Hind a few months ago with a couple of polaroids and her first tests done in Paris before summer. And we've been relentlessly thinking of doing an update on her as her book started to grow, she made a stop by New York signing with DNA and finally started her career with a beautiful first season there. First class shows piled up day after day from BCBG to 3.1 Philip Lim via Philosophy, Lacoste,... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 19: Anastasija

Anastasija Kondratjeva @ Vacatio (Latvia), New York Models (NY), Elite (Paris), Elite (London), Why Not (Milan) We were talking about the girls that always do well in Paris in our previous TMSRRE dedicated to Egle Tvirbutaite and we might tell you a similar story again when it comes to Anastasija Kondratjeva. A girl who did well since her first walk in New York till the last days in Paris but who seems to get most of the attention in the latter and we wouldn't mind calling her another darling of the City of... Goodnight Etc.

Isabella Oelz @ Elite (Amsterdam), Elite (Paris), Elite (London), Elite (Milan), One (NY) It's supposed to be Wednesday already but we still feel we are on Tuesday night. Who cares, after all. It's the end of the day even if it's the beginning of the next one. Good old speculation about what is real and what's not. Is real what you feel or the other way round ? Go figure. The only clear fact right now is above, three statements in purple shirt to tell us the naked truth. We're always willing to drop... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 30: Barbora

Barbora Dvorakova @ Ford (NY) We had to finish with a 30th part and nobody could close our reviews as good as Barbora. We've been watching her since the very beginnings, were already really happy when she took a beautiful start back in Couture s/s 08 at Felipe Oliveira Baptista (always ahead of the game) and Givenchy. Slow yet steady, then turning out to be breathtaking and surprising again in f/w 09-10, czech beauty from Elite Prague is making her own marks where one should leave some. It... [Lire la suite]
