And All Took That Turn
Anna Piirainen @ Brave (Milan)
Life is quite ironical sometimes. First feature of the week, first
one post-fashion week was dedicated to a girl with that slow-and-steady
career pattern and from there we jump to one of the latest Givenchy
girls. Well, not that ironical if you remember Rasa's debuts and, again,
not so much when you had the opportunity to have a quick talk with
Anna's agent from Brave Models, carefully explaining how the
plans for the model are to go step by step with everything, treating
her career as... [Lire la suite]27-08-10
Weatherproof!
Olga Ovchynnikova @ Supreme (NY)
Rain and wind are our guilty pleasures even when everyone is
looking for blue sky but we can't help thinking Olga Ovchynnikova might
have some sunny days ahead of her and we're quite pleased with this
idea. Not intending she's going on vacation, though: you should see
her soon, working hard and walking fast come New York Fashion Week.
Ready for the frenzy, equipped with freshly taken polaroids and quite a mysterious look that should help her during that tough
battle... [Lire la suite]17-03-10
Cold Coffee Story
Naomi Preizler @ Next (Paris)
You can go anywhere you want in Paris, during fashion weeks you're almost sure you'll always see a model. In the streets, the subways and that famous cafés with the name starting by S (nothing très parisien, just the ones you have everywhere else). Were just sitting there for a latte at the end of our trip when a fragile silhouette crossed the room. Platinum blond hair, elegant walk -- no doubt the young lady was a model. Naomi Preizler was the first name we had in mind and unless it was... [Lire la suite]14-01-10
Two of the FM Kind
Sadie Newman @ FM (London), Ford (NY)
Dark hair and pale skin, winning combo ? Seems so, especially when you push both at their extremes. It's not the first an agency gives a try to that look but it has recently reached a very special level at FM, London. Two girls of this kind are seeing their career opportunities growing sky-high while their future looks more promising than ever. Don't want to jinx anything so, let's simply put it that way: development is wonderfully done with major materials. Editorials around the... [Lire la suite]06-10-09
Seven Reasons and Only One Elena
Elena Ivanova @ Just WM (Paris)
First: we weren't at Givenchy show.
Second: we had amazing meetings and the loveliest dinner of the week
instead. Third: the casting at Givenchy was so great it's a bit
heartbreaking to think we've missed it but still love our meetings and
dinner, no regrets. Fourth: Ranya Mordanova and Johanna Kneppers were
both stunning there and that's good news. Fifth: Antonella Graef looked
better than ever when she opened again. Sixth: we're inlove with Nastya
Karzan's moody expression, so... [Lire la suite]10-08-09
Supremacy
Antonella Graef @ Supreme (NY)
Let's talk about love. Love, love, love. All we're dreaming of. We're not going to tell you about blue ballons and midnight moons but a little story about twisted toons. Even if there is a bit of moonlight in the story too, pale dolls popping up at Givenchy, like out of the night in their dark outfits. We were lucky enough to catch up with Stasya and Ranya right after the show but Antonella was missing. A teaspoon of sadness on a glorious day,... [Lire la suite]08-07-09
Avant Garde
Stasya @ Avant (Russia), Supreme (NY), Women (Paris)
Two girls from Avant, two girls from Supreme, two exlusive girls at Givenchy and ten minutes to spend with them after the show. Stasya is a redhead but Givenchy is Givenchy and all the girls had to work out the same kind of look to fit the atmosphere of the collection and Ricardo Tisci's
world. Though, red or much darker, Stasya's potential is larger than
the universe and she's even more impressive in person as she was on the
first pictures we saw. Everything is natural,... [Lire la suite]13-05-09
Denim Dreams Or It Seems
10 Magazine is out four times a year and we’ve already had two
editorials with Yulia Kharlapanova in
2009. She was in the Spring issue, she’s there for Summer too. It
sounds awesome to say and actually looks awesome when you open the
magazine. Yulia caught our eyes on the runway, mesmerized us with her
Moschino campaign and never fails to surprise us in any of her recent
editorials, both in 10 and Flair.
It’s black and blue and dedicated to Ricardo Tisci’s work for
Givenchy, shot by Cedric Buchet and styled by... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 22: Kelsey
Kelsey Van Mook @ Next
Some small shows can give you hopes and hints on what can be the next level. This is exactly what happened with Kelsey this season after she did a few ones in NY among those some we watch carefully. Then silence. Until a Sunday evening in Paris. Expectations of greatness turned into exciting reality. Kelsey was exclusive at Givenchy. And opened. First look is first impression and she made a strong one. If this breakthrough came as fast as a lightning, the reasons are more obvious... [Lire la suite]15-03-09
TMSRRE part 21: Polina
Polina Barbasova @ Union (London), Ford (NY), Elite (Paris), Elite (Milan)
If you really want it, take it slow. That's what we could say about Polina's career. Especially what she did this season. The way she did it. Slow in NY, almost silent but booking some underrated and overlooked shows with excellent castings. Slow in Milan but booking our biggest favorite there: Antonio Marras. Slow in Paris until... she exclusively appeared at Givenchy. Kind of crowning for our beloved Polina (from Team Models in Oslo). She had... [Lire la suite]
