Fashion does it Better

Fancy Flower(s)

Amy @ Elite (NY) Usually when a photographer sends you a color picture and its black and white counterpart, it's up to you to choose the one you would like to use. In other words: which one looks better. That might have been Kristiina Wilson's purpose too. Or not, after all it's not the first time she sends us materials like these, black and white and full colors versions of the same shot. And it's not the first time the idea of having the two versions side by side crosses our minds. Creating some contrast, playing with... [Lire la suite]

FDIB loves and bookmarks: Dossier Journal's NY coverage by Kristiina Wilson

Alexa Yudina and Irina Kazhamiakina @ Women (NY), the AL girls were beyond playful at Costello Tagliapetra. Jacquelyn Jablonski @ Ford (NY), Ford's force and FDIB's favorite at VPL Elena Ivanova @ Wilhelmina (NY), becoming one of our absolute favorites these days -- strong features, fragile look at Thuy Georgia Hilmer @ Next (NY), another favorite featured a few days ago, loved her shirt (again!) at VPL Bregje Heinen @ Women Direct (NY), Micha's muse is stealing spotlights even when she's lost in her thoughts at VPL Alina Krasina... Together Forfuckingever ?

Tura Kenny and Ann Kenny @ DNA (NY) Wouldn't be the first time we feature twins on FDIB though our past experiences taught us we could have opted for a different approach. DNA's vision and promotion of the Kenny sisters (from New Jersey) gave us a hint on how we should or at least could introduce two girls sharing one look only separated by a few (worthy) details like... hair color, as in our current example. Ann the brunette, Tura the blonde. But still too simplistic if you consider their... [Lire la suite]

FDIB loves and bookmarks: Kristiina Wilson's Notpolas from today

Lucia Jonova and Julija Steponaviciute @ IMG (NY), Lela and Nathaline Marchett @ Wilhelmina (NY) It's quite showtime and we have to love polaroids and snapshots right now. Can't escape, can't run away from it. Though if castings for the shows are getting full-force coverage everywhere, the last set of polas that caught our eyes are actually for a magazine, taken by photographer Kristiina Wilson. The notpolas as she call them herself are lovely rectangles with wooden background and pale light that literally bites and ates the model... [Lire la suite]

Rings on your fingers, paint on your toes

Mia Temirova @ Elite (NY) Mia is in town, you knew it. And Mia is working with our favorite photographers and that's a pretty good thing if you consider she's there for development. Introducing the NY chapter of her career last week (or the previous one, time goes superfast here), pushing it further today. Kristiina Wilson is peerless when it comes to put her models in weird situations in front of her camera, twisting classic beauties became her signature with that mix of quirky chic, odd sensuality... Inspiration counts

Laurel Stovall @ New York Models (NY) Laurel certainly belongs to the most inspiring models of her generation. Inspiration might be the exact word to describe all these little things that make her truly special. A muse in making, an inspiration for photographers and any kind of creative who has a chance to work with her. Kristiina Wilson seems to be among them and the results of their latest session together is pure wonder. Shadows and lights, quiet yet slightly playful, this short story relies on Kristiina's... Cat's eyes

Cat McGrath @ Next (NY) Or maybe we should have called it "Cat's hair" ? Or just by the original title of the story by Kristiina Wilson "Catbird" ? Well we thought the hair was obvious and the title belongs to the whole story. So, our choice was finally "Cat's eyes" as there is a lot to tell about her dreamy glance when she looks right at the camera. Of course the auburn curls are what you see first but it goes hand in hand with her eyes, making a bigger impression. We first saw her polas and were... [Lire la suite]
