Fashion does it Better

Numéro girl Number seven

Ali Michael @ DNA (NY), Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Ali's eye-brows went notorious in less time than you would need to think about it. Sure, they might be her most eye-catching feature and a part of what makes her often very expressive in her editorials. Her work with Paolo Roversi is a perfect example. Though, our favorite part of her book so far could be her collaborations with some of our beloved photographers like Vanina Sorrenti (for Numéro Tokyo) and especially KT Auleta (for both i-D and Vogue Russia). Ali went through... [Lire la suite]

Numéro girl Number six

Constance Jablonski @ Marilyn (NY), Elite (Paris) A sculptural, square and slightly asymmetrical jawline as a trademark, fitting Marilyn NY's current aesthetic along with girls like Tabea Kobach and a S/S 09 season that left a strong memory. From Donna Karan to Diane Von Furstenberg in NY, followed by a thrilling trilogy in London (Christopher Kane, Jaeger and Armand Basi), some selective bookings in Milan and an explosive week in Paris (ruling it from Nina Ricci to Lanvin). Comparison with allegedly similar-looking models were... [Lire la suite]

Numéro girl Number five

Ali Stephens @ Elite (NY), Marilyn (Paris) Back to the expressive Ali, the one we love and who doesn't need to try hard to bring feelings to a picture. The right touch, the right gaze, the right pose. The magical Ali. We'll never have enough ink to write everything about this and the two only-lonely pictures of the editorial might actually be enough to get what we mean. And also enough to forget how she put her heart and soul in a story she probably weren't made for while she's effortlessly striking in these two black and white... [Lire la suite]

Numéro girl Number four

Adina Forizs @ IMG (NY, London, Milan, Paris) Adina's back on glossy pages and it's in Numéro 98. Adina is hiding her mind behind a cigarette or her face behind her hand. It seems she's been hiding a bit during Paris fashion week as well even if the only place we managed to meet her was simply one of our favorite shows, Manish Arora. And if you think of her previous steps being Antonio Marras - another casting we always love - as well as Pollini or Burberry Prorsum you have a more than decent line-up in Milan. If you check even... [Lire la suite]

Numéro girl Number two

Evelina Mambetova @ Supreme (NY) If Darya was finally an obvious choice to open our feature on the new girls from Numéro, Evelina's name came immediately after. The first one was striking, the second is charming. Her eyes seem to be the most captivating part of Evelina until you discover her with eyes-closed.  Unmatched grace. Delicate and intriguing, from seismic gaze to serenity, Supreme's ballerina also knows the way to rock it hard. In her usual subtle softness...

Numéro girl Number one

Darya Kurovska @ Supreme (NY) Our first pick from Sofia Sanchez and Mauro Mongiello's editorial in current Numéro was easy and hard at the same time. We went for Darya, though. Could have been Evelina or Myf but we went for Darya. Last minute pick, just a feeling. And that feeling was her expression on the first picture was the strongest opener we could have imagined to introduce our favorite editorial from the whole magazine. The contrast between the first and the second did also seriously weigh in our decision. The most... [Lire la suite]

Easy Listening

Hilary Rhoda @ IMG It doesn't happen very often. At least, it didn't happen a lot these days. An opportunity to see some great new editorial of Hilary. Of course we had this stunning one from Doingbird by Terry Richardson. We had the feeling "our" Hilary (the way we love her) was back and were waiting, waiting, waiting... until this new story appeared in current Numéro     All the ingredients are in it. All that makes her great, all that she needs to fully express her potential. Colors, kitsch, cats and cream.... [Lire la suite]

Olga Sherer @ One (NY) everyday. We're always thinking about a big, big redhead issue but as we already wrote it in a previous post, it's really hard to make a complete issue with all the new faces, all the new editorials. All the news and the day after we see something fresher. A new faces out of nowhere. A new editorial or simply new tests or polas. Like Tanya Chubko's newest polaroids, like Sof'ya the new red sensation at Lilas Models, like this new beauty story from Numéro 93. Olga Sherer by Alix Malka. We thought it... [Lire la suite]

Une jeune fille en fleur (Edita's blossoming)

Edita Vilkeviciute @ Viva (Paris) From her very first editorial for Vogue Italia's model supplement to her most recent editorials, we've been following Edita step by step, and almost saw her climax in Paris s/s 08 live - from MiuMiu to Vuitton the last sunday of the fashion week. It was the exact moment we discovered the secret behind the incredible rise of one our (numerous...) lithuanian favorites: beyond the subtle image of both classic vibe and unique features, we've seen the energy. Fresh and friendly, amazing every second.... [Lire la suite]

Sunburst, sunburn

New Numéro is out. The best issue we've seen (and bought) for a while. Leading the casting, Aline Weber. The sensational Brazilian who opened Balenciaga this season is now translating all her poweful potential into an editorial wave. Beginning with this striking story by Laurie Bartley, brows bleached and sun-tanned. Aline Weber @ One (NY)
