Fashion does it Better

Delightful Details

Tessa Westerhof @ SPS (The Netherlands) Time goes by so slowly... and fashion is supposed to go so fast. Or was supposed, fashion has gone mid-tempo, upbeat yet slower, mild or bittersweet atmosphere with all these moves that aren't changes and other breaking news turning out to be minor facts, forgotten the day after. Once upon a little time, new faces were everywhere, literally pouring down. Every fresh face was labeled the next big thing then had to survive the hype or disappear. The shock of the new was daily, the new generation... [Lire la suite]

She's got the Look

Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands) We could write exactly the same as we did for Maaike, what haven't we said on Valerie that you'd need to know. Well, what you might be interested in right now is her brand new TopShop materials (make-up campaign), just released last week. For everything else, it's the same good old love for her look and modeling work. We didn't add her to the Muses section of the page for no reason and best is that we actually didn't wake up one day with that idea. She... [Lire la suite]

Maaike Klaasen @ SPS (The Netherlands) Is there anything about Maaike we didn't write ? Don't think so, but there might be some pictures you haven't seen yet and these ones just picture her the right way. From serene to spooky, from playful to gently crazy, the palette of expressions she pulls out is subtle and precious. Shot recently by Gilbert François (check out the feature we dedicated to him and his work) in his very own style, this short black and white story focuses on what can be considered as Maaike's essence... Doughty Dreamer

Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands) The weather is so nice and the atmosphere is so odd that we were just thinking about doing a post like "We Are Closed Until Next Week" when Valerie's latest materials (for designer Elliot Atkinson) arrived, with a theme that is the exact opposite of the mood here. Spooky, greyish black and white picture which immediately reminds you of fall and makes you feel like tomorrow is the 1st of September. The contrast is rather refreshing and redirects you to topics... [Lire la suite]

Introducing: Florentine

Florentine van Houten @ SPS (The Netherlands) After following, almost day by day some of the girls at SPS, it was about time for an update on a model who just recently signed with the agency and started to work on her book. Same high standards as the others on board, fresh look and beauty of the beginner as bonuses: here comes Florentine van Houten, 15-years-old and 5'11 (180) already. Florentine didn't only capture our attention for her face and silhouette, we were also captivated by her very laid-back attitude and amazing... [Lire la suite]

Rouge & Noir

Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands) Key word: development. Aka: the moment that takes a lot of time when you want to make it right. Where: Marie Claire Greece and Glamour US. What's up: different moods, traveling physically and mentally. The results: above and below. Shall we continue like this and keep this pattern for all our future entries or already forget about that telegraphic style ? Was a suitable intro and that might be it and it certainly won't replace a detailed analysis or a longer... [Lire la suite]

Unstoppable Child

Fleur D'Hondt @ SPS (The Netherlands) You gotta stop that child says the title but we bet you won't do it. Too hard to stop when Fleur suddenly spread her wings in front of Anouk Morgan's camera and goes fully expressive from every angle. No matter how you feel when you see that story from Mirage magazine -- surprised ? amazed ? astonished ? -- there are certainly sides of her you never saw before even if you got a hint seeing her previous work with Anouk. Subtle faces and gazes going from innocent to... [Lire la suite]

Now everbody wants a fake ice-cream

Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands) Already featured Valerie a few times recently and our little fingers told us it's not about to stop soon. Editorials are literally pouring in her book these days and we're certainly not unhappy with this. Piece of today is from italian edition of Grazia and quality goes above the usual standards of the mag (even if it wouldn't be the first time we dig out some jewels there). A teaspoon of awkwardness keeps her as fresh as can be though she got more confident... [Lire la suite]

She's got black nail varnish (but you don't see it)

Maaike Klaasen @ SPS (The Netherlands) Mighty Maaike exploring her fragile side with a leather jacket ? It's possible and even on polaroids. Contrasts are often the best way to put some more emphasis on a certain look or features you'd like to highlight for a specific reason. If we're always looking for polaroids of any girl we introduce or write an update on, it's quite not that often we manage to get rock-solid quality materials. Perfect polas need to respect the usual rules (no make-up, for example -- just... [Lire la suite]

Sweetness, undercover

Odile Coco @ SPS (The Netherlands) Velvet eyes and soft mood, sweetness in disguise behind strong features (that cheekbones-jawline combo!), quiet yet determinated gaze and lovely light-brown locks. The perfect portrait in three pictures. Odile Coco's development goes by and new materials keep popping up regularly. Currently handled by Marilyn Paris, her portfolio just saw a new addition raising its level again - new test by photographer Hugues Laurant who did a wonderful job capturing what we'd call Odile's...
