Love and Luck
Bregje Heinen @ Micha Models (The Netherlands), Select (London), Supreme (NY), Women (Milan)
There are these days you wonder if emotions are your friends or foes
and can't find a proper answer, some days you wish it was all mild and
calm, that you were flowing on your feelings instead of being carried
by the flood. If there one fashion story (beauty story for that matter)
which really materialise this impression, that would be Bregje's latest
spread in Glass Magazine, third issue. Opened by a... [Lire la suite]07-09-10
Silver Bullet
Silver letters and golden girls — the shortest description to talk
about Supreme's Spring Summer 2011 show package. Short is not enough,
though, for this extended and expensive packet which meets its first
goal as soon as you see it: giving a new identity to an brandy with a
totally different history. Switching from its previous trademark to a
new signature, obviously moving from the original aesthetic to another
one reflecting the new vision at the agency. Nobody can tell yet what
the impact of the (still)... [Lire la suite]03-09-10
Her Stare Is Louder Than Your Voice
Michelle Den Hollander @ SPS (The Netherlands), Supreme (NY)
If you take the time to listen to our rhyme, you would be aware of
Michelle's magical stare. Something you can't miss, can't overlook even
if you glimpse at the pictures for a few seconds only. Michelle never
gets rid of it and that's for the very best but this time Anouk Morgan
managed to bring this extraordinary feature to another level. We don't
even think it was meant to be this way, it's just the natural result of
a great collaboration, of a... [Lire la suite]04-05-10
The Supreme Series, Part One: Chanel
Chanel Iman @ Supreme (NY)
It was just impossible to imagine only two months ago and now it's the
only reality of modeling in NY. Chanel Iman @ Supreme (or if you take
it the other way round: Daiane Conterato @ Ford). If there is nothing
truly shocking in thinking of Jacquelyn Jablonski represented by
Supreme or Rachel Clark at Ford in terms of former aesthetics of these
two agencies, Chanel is one of these iconic girls who embodies the
philosophy of Supreme's new team, the same way as Lakshmi Menon or as
... [Lire la suite]28-04-10
Doughty Dreamer
Valerie Van Der Graaf @ SPS (The Netherlands)
The weather is so nice and the atmosphere is so odd that we were just thinking about doing a post like "We Are Closed Until Next Week" when Valerie's latest materials (for designer Elliot Atkinson) arrived, with a theme that is the exact opposite of the mood here. Spooky, greyish black and white picture which immediately reminds you of fall and makes you feel like tomorrow is the 1st of September. The contrast is rather refreshing and redirects you to topics... [Lire la suite]04-02-10
Teenage dreams are so hard to beat
Kate Kosushkina @ Supreme (NY)
Title says Toy Soldier... thought it could be a remix of Toy Story and Dog Soldiers. Might be a little odd for Teen Vogue who may have borrowed it to some lyrics. Or whatever. Wherever. Cool idea and cool overall theme. Also cool to see some editorial stuff of Kate Kosushkina, still too rare on glossy paper yet (cute in V, though). This one by Nick Haymes could be a little masterpiece and a sort of avant-premiere, giving us a taste of how Kate works out some very specific atmospheres, creating... [Lire la suite]14-01-10
Vibrant
Marike Le Roux @ Wilhelmina (NY) and Alana Zimmer @ Supreme (NY)
Wasn't planned! But we couldn't resist. First, the colorful visuals were perfect to balance and then, Rykiel's red looked awesome with our new layout. Perfect day, isn't it ? If we want to look at the new campaign through the artist's eye, we'd say the atmosphere (warm night at the end of Summer ? Twilight in September) just enhance the vivid colors again while the two faces of Sonia Rykiel Spring 2010 are a perfect match as well. Timeless features,... [Lire la suite]22-09-09
Going nuts right under the roof
Daiane Conterato @ Supreme (NY)
Sounds like our short trip to our favorite bookstore turned out to be one of the best in months. First Lula and now Bon. Sensational contents from page one to the end of the book, silky smelly paper on the cover and a lot to read. Among the last features is a piece dedicated to Haider Ackermann and, funny fact, we were just talking about his show with one of our favorite Dutch mother agent. The looks and aesthetics on various catwalks. And naturally, Haider Ackermann came in mind... [Lire la suite]22-09-09
TMSRRE part 12: Ursula
Ursula @ FM (London)
Yesterday we were speechless and breathless when we saw her walking for Christopher Kane. Immediately thought of a report on her. Could have done it overnight but we were right to wait a little longer. A matter of hours, as the missing piece of the puzzle just arrived and left us speechless and breathless once again. Tears we cried were tears of joy this time. Magical moments that we didn't even expected.
Ursula belongs to our favorite models since the day we noticed her first. Something special,... [Lire la suite]05-09-09
The Night the Flame held the Candle
Stasya Izyumova @ Supreme (NY)
Third Supreme girl in two days and we're are already in the middle of the weekend. Guess we can all feel the frenzy and Stasya's new polas were definitely worth to jump out of the bus and rush back to the office. Even at 9pm. Major arrival throwing away the tired mood of the evening, twilight stories can go on. Stasya was an immediate favorite and is set to become quickly a perennial favorite too, based on her abilities in front of the camera, uncanny flame-red hair... [Lire la suite]
