Veni Vidi Vici
Tune your eyes and ears for one of the last times as we did while working on this piece. Who are the "faces of five years of FDIB" was the main question behind our idea to (re-)feature a final time these models who regularly appeared on this page from their first steps in this business till end of our project. We don't pretend we took part in anything in their careers but were our wildcards from the starts, models we were probably among the only ones (besides their agents of course) to believe in their future and who proved us the... Tatatata Bengbengbeng (All The Rage)
Valerija Kelava and Hanne Gaby Odiele @ Ford (NY), Hannah Holman @ Elite (NY)
Working till two in the morning, waking up with loud disco straight in the
ears and working again. Did we even sleep or did we dream we slept? That
is the question and a very good one. Vogue Italia is not a dream,
though it's a shame it hasn't reached our favorite bookshop yet -- will
probably have to kick some asses soon if we want to get it in time..
next time. Because this issue is all the rage here and now, and makes us

Frozen Tears
Valeria Kelava @ Ford (NY), Oui (Paris)
Ending the season with a flawless week in Paris from Balenciaga to Miu
Miu, from Givenchy to Louis Vuitton, from Rick Owens to Viktor &
Rolf, from Giambattista Valli to Kenzo and sorry for the ones we've had
to skipped, they would be worth a mention too. Flawless show-list and a
good editorial kick to keep it all sky-high. Two stories in
Vogue Italia's October issue would be enough to write a note even with
no shows to back it up but the combination of both can be considered as
an... [Lire la suite]01-07-10
Ringside Seat
Valerija Kelava @ Next and Iselin Steiro @ Women
Some models are literally propelled in the spotlights as soon as they
arrive on stage. Either they are push by some unknown physical forces or
they do really attract the light to never let it go. Some other models
make their way in the shadows, either totally unaware of the lights next
door or they couldn't care less and cherish their comfy darkness. Till
the day has come to get out of dark, all of a sudden or step by step,
depending on the model herself and what's surrounding... [Lire la suite]29-04-10
Coveted
Valerija Kelava @ Next
Valerija Kelava hasn't only managed to work out her second flawless
show season in a row and doesn't only get one editorial after the
other, she also knows how to add that supplement of soul one needs to
leave a real mark in modeling. Treating each piece of her works like a
true performance (both expressions and body language are beyond
breathtaking absolutely everytime and everywhere) and she's refreshing classics or basics
from gothic moods to nudes. Last piece is also... [Lire la suite]21-03-10
// Parallel Lines //
Abbey Lee Kershaw @ Next, cover by Richard Prince styled by Tamara Rothstein. Bottom left you can see a little scar on the magazine that travelled a lot before arriving at home here.
Got POP in hands, finally found it in town. It took a while till
it arrived at our local bookstore but it's here, big and beautiful. Our
copy suffered a little from travelling to our half-godforsaken city but
it's still amazing to have it, smell it, read it, look at it over and
over again. A magazine really becomes a magazine the day you can touch

Casting Connections at Sharon Wauchob Fall 2010
HANNE GABY ODIELE
To tell you the truth, we didn't attend as many shows as we used to as we spent less time in Paris while our schedule was heavier than ever. Though, one we wouldn't miss for anything on earth is Sharon Wauchob. For the silhouettes on the runway of course but as a model-focused webpage, mostly for the impeccable casting they never fail to have there. Our favorite motto being that every casting has to be a statement (or at least to reflect the mood of a collection), Wauchob's has been on the top of our list for... [Lire la suite]10-02-10
That's the only thing we really know
Valerija Kelava @ Next (NY, Paris, London, Milan)
Couldn't not plan another feature on Valerija, the heat became too hard to ignore. After seing her flawless and poised at Chanel Haute Couture, betwitching at Prada Menswear and after running to the closest bookshop to get her latest stories in magazine, a few more lines on Ms. Kelava were as obvious as driking coffee in the morning. Last time we talked about the dark-haired dark-horse of last season was for an editorial shared with another favorite, Jenny Sinkaberg in... [Lire la suite]18-11-09
Networking
Valerija Kelava @ Next and Jenny Sinkaberg @ IMG
Two more girls we mentioned recently, two girls who were actually the most striking newcomers we've met during the shows in Paris. Valerija Kelava, Next's wildcard of the season and Jenny Sinkaberg, a different kind of blonde from IMG. Unique beauties seem to have a bright future on glossy paper, beginning with Dazed & Confused, December issue (by Kacper Kasprzyk, styled by Mattias Karlsson). Network girls as well, as both are signed with a big worldwide network.... [Lire la suite]04-10-09
The Ones Who Stopped By Will Fly Higher
Valerija Kelava @ Next (Paris)
Gaspard Yurkievich didn't disappoint - as
always. Seems that the famous casting director behind the faces of
Spring Summer 2010 did her work with much love and managed once again
to strengthen the aesthetic of the collection. Faces you have to
remember, faces that need no efforts to remember. Good mix with a few
surprising newcomers who were worth to meet this season. High level
means also high level of surprise. If the whole week wasn't as
thrilling as this so far, Gaspard Yurkievich... [Lire la suite]
