The Key, The Secret

Kirby Kenny @ Viva (Paris, London), DNA (NY), Why Not (Milan) We included her in the first half of our last (ever) runway review as one of the five models that made their marks this season and at that time only New York and London results were available. Paris was finally the town that saw Kirby Kenny blossom on the very, very last days. Were keeping our fingers crossed to see her in person but the opportunity never happened. Schedule issues on both sides, we guess. And as the peak of her week took place at the... [Lire la suite]

Gosees and Gambles

Kirsi Pyrhonen @ Brand (Finland), Viva (Paris, London) NY fashion week is close to its end already and London is getting more attention again, as usual. Gosees and castings have already started and, without frankly speaking of frenzy, it's starting to buzz on the other side of the Channel. Brand Model Management (from Helsinki but was probably needless to add) has/will have no less than 4 girls in town. Each with her own profile, assets and career plans. Maybe the latter is the most interesting if we consider Brand's... [Lire la suite]

A History of High Class

Edita Vilkeviciute @ Viva (Paris, London), DNA (NY), Why Not (Milan) "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" has never been so true, talking about Edita Vilkeviciute. Not that there would be many people to disagree with the fact she's obviously beautiful but we guess the way people describe her beauty could differ a lot from one perception to the other. And that's no real wonder, after all. Edita is perfectly versatile, shows up here then disappears and comes back where you will never... [Lire la suite]

Deluxe De Rijk

Anna De Rijk @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London), Women (Milan), DNA (NY) Magazines like Vogue Italia and now 10 couldn’t miss a model like her and we certainly understand their choice: there is something about Anna you probably won’t see twice. If she’s poised at an unmatched level, she also can appear as limitlessly playful and several pictures of this editorial by Claudia Knoepfel and Stefan Indlekofer (styled by David Vandewal) have a subtle touch of humour. Last but not least, the name of the story, Fantastical, sounds... [Lire la suite]

Relax baby, Vogue will turn out fine

Anna De Rijk @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London), Women (Milan), DNA (NY) She's one of the best surprise (not a complete surprise as we already knew since F/W 09-10 she's got some very good eyes standing behind her) of the Resort collections, opening Prada then walking Miu Miu. The most delicate chin of the whole fashion world is getting more popular everyday and Anna is gathering a very impressive list of jobs these days. It doesn't stop with resort runways and even if it did, it would already be quite huge. But... [Lire la suite]

The taste of Cherry Chapstick

Laura Blokhina @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London), Why Not (Milan), DNA (NY) She didn't break record this season on the runway but she's safe and steady in her editorial career. Safe ? Rather say daring as her work is often tongue-in-cheek and visually striking. As her latest piece in current Mixte by Txema Yeste, style by Francesco Sourigues. Seems the mag likes her and even more. Actually to book her once for an editorial is to love her and magazines remain faithful to Laura, issue after issue. That's no wonder when... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 11: Anna

Anna De Rijk @ Viva (London) Last december we had a sudden peak of love for Anna brought by some awesome memories of her from backstage at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and an editorial by Jonathan Leder published in A4. Now she's giving a complete image of what her potential looks like walking for the best designers in London. With a list including Topshop Unique, Armand Basi One, Margaret Howell and Ann-Sofie Back, no one can deny British catwalks love her. And we just hope it won't stop her (at least it seems London... Three dots making the world go round

Anna De Rijk @ Paparazzi (Amsterdam), Women (Milan), Viva (Paris), Viva (London), DNA (NY) We will never forget her from backstage almost one year ago. Was during Couture fashion week in Paris, Ecole des Beaux-Arts. The show was Gardem and it was quite a great opportunity to meet with new girls that have been blossoming step by step since that moment. In Anna's case it spells Elle US earlier this year and right now A4 shot by Jonathan Leder. We're still waiting for it to be release here but the preview is simply... [Lire la suite]

Numéro girl Number seven

Ali Michael @ DNA (NY), Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Ali's eye-brows went notorious in less time than you would need to think about it. Sure, they might be her most eye-catching feature and a part of what makes her often very expressive in her editorials. Her work with Paolo Roversi is a perfect example. Though, our favorite part of her book so far could be her collaborations with some of our beloved photographers like Vanina Sorrenti (for Numéro Tokyo) and especially KT Auleta (for both i-D and Vogue Russia). Ali went through... [Lire la suite]

Riding on jelly swans

Zuzana Gregorova @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Fever and strange dreams, walking in a fantastic novel across jelly swans swimming by as the river flows. Sounds like a dream and was a dream. Well, it's already said above and clearly seems to have nothing to do with Zuzana. Or better say Zuzana brought us back to reality and kept us away for early-wintertime days nailed to bed waiting for the fever - and the swans - to go away. Delirious. A quick walk on a cold wednesday afternoon. A warm bookshop full of newly released magazines,... [Lire la suite]
