Fashion does it Better

The Ball at the End of this World

Spades, you do like spades, you like them late, you carry on. Birds, and broken cages, and lonely songs, and avenues. Bubbles on the rack, inside hairy heads full of fairy snails. Human beings are lovelier with eyes closed, mouthes closed, do not touch. You do like spades when others worship hearts, and mellow breasts, and funky farts, and Kierkegaard. I am fool enough, to see some lights, to watch them shine, and make my eyes regret the first minute they were allowed to stay open. And this being said, I still believe, I still... [Lire la suite]

Head Over Heels

Maryna Linchuk @ DNA (NY), Viva (Paris) It was a little more than a year ago, our last feature on Maryna Linchuk. A couple of pictures and a flow of words, a deep analysis of what her walk at Prada meant to us and a few more on how much we were impressed by a very simple yet extremely efficient modeling performance. Cover-girl of Vogue Russia this month, Maryna does it again or even better, bringing up to life a story that would look pretty kinetic without the little touch of presence she adds to it. Basic fashion with... [Lire la suite]

The Supreme Series, Part Two: Ieva

Ieva Laguna @ Supreme (NY) Let's talk about mutual benefits or perfect match, Ieva Laguna is definitely the most natural addition to Supreme's new lineup both for her sleek features and the range of jobs she's used to. Getting a nice response on the editorial market, gathering a nice amount of campaigns already with more stuff on its way, the latvian beauty (from Joy Star System, Riga) made her marks with flawless seasons that actually translates into further results. 5'10 and probably a good example of... Magdalena Frackowiak @ DNA (NY) Saw the cover and thought of some eighties oldies. Especially Ronnie, talk to Russia by German one-hit-wonder of 1988 (not sure, might be 87 or 89) Sheree. A young lady, an american flag and the end of Cold War coming soon. Our childhood, our history as well. A little more than twenty years later came that picture with no link to all these stories but one thing remains nonetheless. The aesthetic, the way Europeans see (and dream of) USA, apart from those french people that keep seeing greasy hamburgers... [Lire la suite]

Kenneth loves boxing

Everyone has already noticed it in latest Vogue Russia. Kenneth Cappello's editorial featuring Marcelina Sowa is kinda reminiscent of one of his previous work with Jessica Stam. Boxing gloves, sporty atmosphere on a white background and so on. Everything looks the same. Really ? In a way I'd say yes but the "vibe" isn't exactly identical. Think about the models. Stam's free-and-easy look is completely different from Marcelina's shy and youthful appeal. I just don't get the same feeling when I see the two pictures and... [Lire la suite]
