The Somptuous Destiny of Grace Hartzel

Featured on FDIB at the very beginning of her career, Grace Hartzel is pretty unstoppable lately (while we remain pretty loyal). It sounds so basic to say yet we wouldn't find better words to describe her flight path since she took off. Jumping easy-easy from UK or US Vogue to Garage and i-D, already a darling of Vogue Russia and Self Service, she also counts among the rare wizards that would make us love some Teen Vogue spread or an ad campaign (and you may have noticed we're usually not thrilled by campaigns in general).... Devil-May-Care

Isabeli Fontana @ Women (NY), Silent (Paris) We found the title on one this story's pages and found quite appropriate to pair it with our entry. Just looked-up again to the expression's possible meanings or the similar words you can find and one of those was freewheeling. Quite a brilliant parallel with what we may experience sometimes, often in some delightful way. And those kind of experimental pathes can lead us right back to the core, to the roots of the project that is FDIB. Going back to the core is... [Lire la suite]

Viktoriya's Secrets

Viktoriya Sasonkina @ Women (NY) and Karlie Kloss @ Next (NY) The title was easy to find this week, timing helped a lot and the pun was fun, set and done. Well, we don't have much time left for procrastination tonight so we're not going to turn around the jerrican (in French we use "turn around the pot" but we thought it was a lot fancier to turn around a jerrican): this piece is dedicated to Viktoriya Sasonkina and (almost) nothing or no one else. It all started while reading Sans Artifice two days ago or so. Some bright... [Lire la suite]

The Viktoriyan Era

Viktoriya Sasonkina @ Women (NY) Can't get enough. Can't wait. Can't take my eyes off. The usual sentences to describe any piece of Viktoriya Sasonkina's work. Once you fell into the deep trap of her appeal, it's almost impossible to get out of it and a try would even get you deeper. This is for her magic. Now, on a more strategic side, we also owe this precious and undying love to the careful management she receives from Women worldwide which could be simplified as "precious girls need precious bookings and precious... Riding on jelly swans

Zuzana Gregorova @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London) Fever and strange dreams, walking in a fantastic novel across jelly swans swimming by as the river flows. Sounds like a dream and was a dream. Well, it's already said above and clearly seems to have nothing to do with Zuzana. Or better say Zuzana brought us back to reality and kept us away for early-wintertime days nailed to bed waiting for the fever - and the swans - to go away. Delirious. A quick walk on a cold wednesday afternoon. A warm bookshop full of newly released magazines,... [Lire la suite]
