Fashion does it Better

Let Us See and We'll Give You Thunders

Don't you worry a single bit, we're in heavy talk for the next new face (sorry for the potential disappointment, both of them are already placed but we can't fight against Günstagram, we are old and irrelevant every now and then) but for now (and even for then) it's time for those we like. Weekend is looking at us, so does beer and cheap salty stuff not to get too nervous. One is the epitome of our muses, the other is getting her spot in our heaven at the moment. Both share one thing (or two) – they are represented by Women in NYC... [Lire la suite]

Isabeli Fontana @ Women (NY), Silent (Paris) We found the title on one this story's pages and found quite appropriate to pair it with our entry. Just looked-up again to the expression's possible meanings or the similar words you can find and one of those was freewheeling. Quite a brilliant parallel with what we may experience sometimes, often in some delightful way. And those kind of experimental pathes can lead us right back to the core, to the roots of the project that is FDIB. Going back to the core is... [Lire la suite]

Tomorrow When All Things Are Shaping

Vanusa Savaris @ Nass (Brazil) Was quite a while ago, already. Not that much in real time but in fashion it's already a lot. Good things take time anyway, whatever they are and in any field. Good girls also take their time when it comes to development, the most precious ones often need to wait until the very best moment to enter the spotlights. Well-known story, after all and actually Vanusa isn't in the spotlights yet but on her way which makes her story more interesting for us. Just to refresh your minds (and ours by the same... Feel the Power

Kylie Bax @ Women (NY) "She is timeless & fearless. Kylie will do anything for a great picture." Timeless and fearless aren't exactly the two words we'd put together very easily, as often fearless relates to fast and what comes fast has big chances to go fast, but the description suits Kylie Bax as perfectly as her outfits in Steven Klein's most recent story in Vogue Italia (May 2010). We've never been afraid of apparent contradictions and even love some paradoxes for what they represent, we're not going... [Lire la suite]

(Sur)Real Women

Nimue Smit and Viktoriya Sasonkina @ Women (NY) The opportunity was to tempting to let it go and every reason to feature both Nimue and Viktoriya is good to take. So good to take when the pictures are so good themselves. And they might be so good because you can't properly put them into one category or another. The visual thrill is a sure thing, the aesthetic is matching ours on every page but the name is hard to find. Editorial ? Advertising ? Candids ? Or just a pretty and fakely random mix of everything ? Anyway, these are from... [Lire la suite]

Cabs for Cuties*

Jac @ IMG, in Numéro 111 by Miguel Reveriego as scanned by elsaskywalker from Exclusive. That little word with a long meaning and a variable definition. How does a girl become exclusive. From many mouthes, you will hear by "signing an exclusivity contract with a brand" and they might be yelling it at you as if it was the most obvious thing on earth. Well, this is a kind of exclusivity as it prevents the model from working with anyone else for the whole duration of that contract. But does it really... [Lire la suite]

Overcoming Procrastination

Valerie Van Der Graaf  @ SPS (The Netherlands) Time went by and she looks as fresh as on day one. Was a few seasons ago, Place Vendome in Paris, Valerie was just in for one show. Since that beautiful moment on a cold afternoon, the blonde with brows from SPS Model Management in Amsterdam has learnt how to use her huge potential at its max and even beyond its limits. Her initial shyness turned into poise with time and cuteness became sophistication. Only freshness remains. There might be no better... [Lire la suite]

Stasya Izyumova @ Avant (Russia), Supreme (NY), Women (Paris), Women (Milan) We wouldn't have expected that our first feature with Stasya was with dark hair as she's always been the ultimate redhead to us. Since the first moment we saw her. The first minute, the first second perhaps. Images are faster than words. Though, as Givenchy is Givenchy and as it means what it means, we didn't mind at all a dark-brown Stasya for one afternoon. It's always better (and rarely easy) to start at the right place... Denim Dreams Or It Seems

10 Magazine is out four times a year and we’ve already had two editorials with Yulia Kharlapanova in 2009. She was in the Spring issue, she’s there for Summer too. It sounds awesome to say and actually looks awesome when you open the magazine. Yulia caught our eyes on the runway, mesmerized us with her Moschino campaign and never fails to surprise us in any of her recent editorials, both in 10 and Flair. It’s black and blue and dedicated to Ricardo Tisci’s work for Givenchy, shot by Cedric Buchet and styled by... [Lire la suite]

Ginta Lapina @ Women Whatever will be will be. This was about to happen, this was in the air and finally it's done. We picked Ginta as our latest Lexposed Face. Well, that's nothing new in itself. No breaking news just a complete round-up. Her season, our feelings, the thrill of the unexpected which raises new expectation. That's our current state of mind. Because of Ginta's wonderful FW 09-10. Read more on our favorite Woman with a plan.
