Fashion does it Better

Taste The Difference

Aymeline Valade @ Women Direct (NY), Women (Paris & Milan), FM (London) We know it's a pretty subjective notion and everyone may have his own point but let's leave aside the old syrupy melody of beauty being in the eye of the beholder (broken record somehow, isn't it?). Let's focus on the obvious and forget about the obnoxious politiquement correct as it's quite rare and happened twice in two different situations: Aymeline Valade outperforming her partners in editorials. Strictly speaking, full stop. Or to say it in a more... [Lire la suite]

Halfway To Your Paradise

Aymeline Valade @ Women Direct (NY), Women (Paris, Milan), FM (London) Whiskey memories out of the beaten tracks and roses in the snow... our daily life in a few words these last few weeks. Heading to unknown places with cheerful feelings of known directions with new moods, the future of FDIB is made of flowers still to blossom. And that's how it goes for the future of modeling too. Who's going to be noticed next, who's going to leave a durable impression after four weeks of shows and so on. Better not think and... [Lire la suite]

That Bregje Girl

Bregje Heinen @ Micha (The Netherlands), Women (Paris, Milan), Women Direct (NY) Memories from last seasons: one image in mind -- Bregje leaving the tent in the Jardin des Tuileries -- and one sentence -- "it's incredible, this girl works everyday", pronounced by a booker from another agency than hers. Good memories, then, good season for her as well. And Bregje seems to be unable to hang out after such a good international starts. Both runways and glossy pages can't get enough of her and this months she's... [Lire la suite]

The Point of No Return

Dovile Virsilaite @ IMG (Milan) Raindrops and snowflakes fighting the blue boots to hit the feet. But they won't make it. Some trends are lasting against time and elements, some faces are made to embody those eternal trends. Hidden in the darkness of the second level of fashion photography, showing up as unforgettable lightnings is the everlasting night of December. We've been running this page for around three years, we should be celebrating. We did it somehow, we ate too much. We're back with green tea and... [Lire la suite]

TMSRRE part 11: Aymeline

Aymeline Valade @ Women Direct (NY), Women (Milan), Women (Paris) We were already impressed by polas and prints, she suddenly caught our eyes again. Walking for Elise Overland first. Then again on last days of New York shows as look number two at Threeasfour, one of the collection that left a mark in our minds from there this season. Presence on the runway, attitude backstage and true talent for editorials are often a formula that works well. Anytime. And for a timeless beauty like Aymeline, this should... [Lire la suite]

Odile is the Big Deal and Amy is Amazing

Odile van Stuijvenberg and Amy Post @ SPS (The Netherlands) It didn't take us long to find the right title. Odile is the big deal for sure and Amy is no less than amazing. Both are among the most promising girls from SPS Model Management in Amsterdam, both belong to our favorites. We've been watching them since their early days and it's a real pleasure to see how their development turns well. Odile is now signed with Marilyn Paris which is her next step. She has a current campaign for... [Lire la suite]

Avant Garde

Stasya @ Avant (Russia), Supreme (NY), Women (Paris) Two girls from Avant, two girls from Supreme, two exlusive girls at Givenchy and ten minutes to spend with them after the show. Stasya is a redhead but Givenchy is Givenchy and all the girls had to work out the same kind of look to fit the atmosphere of the collection and Ricardo Tisci's world. Though, red or much darker, Stasya's potential is larger than the universe and she's even more impressive in person as she was on the first pictures we saw. Everything is natural,... [Lire la suite]

Victoria, the mighty mouse at Women Paris

Victoria Mukhonko @ Women (Paris) She arrived at Women Paris last week, like a little mouse without noise. A little shy and very cute, Victoria is the freshest of their current board. A little shy could be worrying but not for a girl like her who can forget about shyness as soon as she's in front of a camera. And that's exactly what happened. She's been sent to photographer Jonathan Segade (one to keep in mind as well) and suddenly the shy mouse turned to an expressive young lady, able to bring much emotions and grace in her... Evelina is everywhere

Evelina Mambetova @ Supreme (NY), Premier (London), Women (Milan), Women (Paris) Evelina is everywhere. It might be too much in itself and far from enough for a title but truth is that Evelina is everywhere, everywhere she has to be. Not where she doesn't need to appear, just where she has a chance to shine. Her beauty is too unique for any common path, she had to go out of the beaten tracks to find her way and set her pace. Her own one, going her own way, making her own marks. Both on the runways and in magazines. She won't take the... [Lire la suite]

Paris Part Two!

Anastasia Krivosheeva @ Women (Paris), Masha Kirsanova @ Viva (Paris) Second day report. Third day about to start. In thirty minutes we'll be at the other side of the town, attending Atsuro Tayama. Don't know who to expect there. Usually a safe casting with nice surprises. We'll tell you. Then in the next hours will be Issey Miyake, Gaspard Yurkievich and Christian Dior. Dior sounds exciting of course but we're even more excited about Yurkievich, the show you can't miss today if you're looking for new faces on the catwalk.... [Lire la suite]
