Fashion does it Better

That's no secret, no mystery: we're not really obsessed with covers in general. We're more the kind that is eagerly looking forward to seeing what's insde the belly of the beast. Covers suffer, way too often, from an overload of unnecessary letters. Covers suffer from the fact they are covers, actually, meaning they had to be appealing to the masses or at least to the magazine's core afficionados, who love ''their'' book to look like the way they love how it looked like last month, last season, last year etc. Really? Seems to be... [Lire la suite]

Mad (about) Manning

Don't think we were on holidays (oh, holidays) or, even worse, we gave it up. We were simply busy drawing, painting and painting again. All in all, it's pretty much the same job as picking pics for FDIB – it's all about understanding faces, capturing beauty, feeling thrilled by what we see and being able to translate it our way, may it be through words, lines or colors, thank to a keyboard or a pencil. But remaining almost sleepless in front of extra-thick sheets of paper didn't stop us from thinking of who's next, who's the one we... [Lire la suite]

Cosmetic Girl, In Our Mind, So Hard to Find – Abbey Lee's Beautiful Ker-Show

No, you're not (a cosmetic-lady but you're in our mind[s] for sure)... forgot, had to forget too, hey there, but we're still around, the radar's on, the lights too, the car – let's see, but, in case, it might be up for a ride. Still up for motel tours and highway supérettes we couldn't ignore. A slice of cheddar for the road (and eggs, please, eggs, and veggie bacon) and a big slice of chocolate to sleep by. No matter if we're attacked by raindrops or sandstorms, we do absolutely love the smell of latex kissing asphalt, the... [Lire la suite]

Barely Blooming, Blossoming, But

It's been some time we had an itchy will to wrote an article on Ina Maribo Jensen and two weeks ago or so, the i-D story – bloom, grow, blossom – turned this idea into an obsession, a priority on our to-do-list (a quite long and fascinating sheet of paper). The title is just as perfect as the pics themselves, showcasing what Ina is all about at the moment: one of the most interesting talent, turning slowly (and even a tad faster) what everyone calls potential into visual reality. No one can doubt her face would even stun a blind... [Lire la suite]

Light My Dynamite

She's like a firecracker waiting for a matchstick, ready to ignite all night, captivating like no other yet completely blasé. The beauty who doesn't give a shit to her gorgeous features. Fashion is ruthless with pretty ladies but Damaris Goddrie is in a class of her own, not another good-looking classical shampoo-girl. Effortlessly raunchy from head to toe, with that random hairdo of hers, pouting like a grumpy baby, the carefree goddess turns us totally timber when she stands in front of Oliver Hadlee Pearch's camera, put in... Catch Her if You Can

Freja Beha Erichsen @ IMG, covers respectively from and We too, go green on Freja these days. Vogue Italia is already safe on the shelf and i-D is certainly on its way to us as well or at least in pole position on our shopping-list this month. And actually as we're talking about green, greenish colors seems to be perfectly matching Freja's beauty and we couldn't resist comparing it to a second Spring in her career, blossoming again... in every field. Flawless show seasons, relentless editorial... [Lire la suite]

She Doesn't Wink But It's What You Think

Alek Alexeyeva @ Select Models (London), Women (Milan), Nathalie (Paris)   Pretty young things as the title of the new issue of i-D says, while latest UK Elle talks about London calling. We’d say that London is calling right now and many pretty young things are already answering the call. Fresh faces ready for the frenzy, the highly coveted and their challengers will be walking side by side in a little more than one week. If all the attention goes to New York today, tomorrow is never too far away and everyone who... [Lire la suite]

It's History and Her Story

Sigrid Agren @ New York Models, Elite (Paris) Winking or winkling, twinkling or blinking. No matter how you call it, Sigrid Agren is eight times on the 300th issue of  i-D. Sigrid is no secret anymore: she’s everywhere a model has to be. After her spread in current W, she has caught today’s most iconic cover. Shot by Alasdair McLellan and styled by Jane How, Sigrid embodies the atmosphere, the mood of this birthday issue which looks more like a cornerstone in her career and a milestone in the magazine’s life than an actual... Toni is Toni (Never Regret)

Toni Garrn @ Joy Models (Milan) Toni Garrn belongs to the models that have been a tad too rare this season, for our taste, yet it has its advantages. If we're still hungry for more Toni on runways, we're sure at least that she wasn't used the wrong way (the wrong show, the wrong casting, the wrong styling...) and every appearance is warmly welcome (well, on the runway side, there was just CK but the make-up suits her perfectly) as this last editorial from i-D, shot by Richard Bush. After Vogue Italia, now it's time for this... [Lire la suite]

Dream on, Little Mermaid...

by Nick Haymes, courtesy of Joy Models As delicate as a little mermaid. And delightful. Siri Tollerod completes the dream-team at Joy Models, in the same vibe as Margaryta Senchylo. Symbols of refinement, grace... of some less agressive beauty and this wherever you might see beauty. They have the clever look, they have the dreamy mood, they're playing between two worlds and turn a simple fashion picture into the epitome of eye-candy. Last one is from i-D. The one above is from i-D. And while Margaryta is gracing... [Lire la suite]
