Hiromichi Nakano s/s 08 Paris
Would have been great if I woke up earlier on friday during Paris fashion. Wouldn't have missed that. Hiromichi Nakano. I've almost found some appeal in every outfit. Blue from head to toe, influences of Miuccia Prada's recent work, stockings, flats... Many ingredients that I like to see mixed all together in a collection right now. If some outfits may look like pajamas I'm not worried, with such pajamas I would feel good everywhere. Prints aren't overwhelming and suit well to the whole collection's mood.
I loved when Valentino or Loewe did some "total looks" in blue (warm, deep blue for the first, almost turquoise for the second) and I'm glad to see this idea again for summer. Especially the dark version including lighter shades for the stockings. And when it turns to translucent-blue total look, it becomes even more exciting and if I made a comparison with pajamas above, this looks more like "woken-up from a blue dream". Very delicate. Peaceful but slightly in trouble. Really dreamy. And if this is a beautiful story, there is also a small idea growing in my mind. How to make this all-translucent look your own at every moment ? I'm thinking of mixing it to blue (another shade) underwear. I'm conscious that written like that it could sound a little tacky yet if you imagine it, it's simply delicate. A tad subversive, why not, but delicate subversion.
The last outfit I've picked almost prove it, there is nothing tacky or vulgar in seeing the underwear under the delicate, doll-like knee-length dress. Wear it with oversized wellies and you'll be as happy as Viktoria Sasonkina (for those who aren't familiar with this name, it's the model wearing it, last two pictures). School-boy look has it's place here as well and I'm sort of glad to see another interpretation of it after noticing some examples here and there. And for those who aren't convinced by the blue, there are some apple-green versions of the "total looks". Or maybe blue and green mixed together. Or pick-up what you want.
