Sasha Luss @ DNA (NY)

When we saw Sasha signed with DNA, it was an enormous good surprise. For two reasons. First, that meant she was probably going to be in NY soon then signing her was such a wise and refreshing decision for DNA, adding a new mood to their new faces board. Let's say she brings something different, almost unusual for them and in the same time she's true to their aesthetic. She's no Zuzana Gregorova and no Victoria Anderson. You might say she's somewhere in between or see her as totally unique, with no equivalent in NY today - as she definitely is now, see the pictures by Jonathan Leder, one of our favorite photographer there. And if you look twice to the pictures, you might also notice something else. Even you can't mistake her with any other model neither you can say she's not the same anymore, those who know her for long as us can't deny she looks more intense than in her early day. Without having lost anything of her freshness and playful gaze, she looks definitely more dramatic, knows now how to express different moods. It makes us realize it's not always easy to write on a model we know for a while but who's completely new in some areas. In Sasha's case she almost new everywhere, it's probably just that we noticed her very early. Considering all the parameters in this story, we'd rather label her as a brand new face. After all, she's brand new at DNA, brand new in NY and is just experiencing brand new sides of her potential. Could anyone be "more brand new" than her ?
