Perfect perfume

As you may know it (or not), french Elle is weekly. This means its contents are not always equally appealing. And this means some weeks we buy it, some weeks we just don't. Some weeks it's a bit different. After checking the main editorial and already on our way to forget the issue, we suddenly stumble on the beauty pages. Finding somethig exciting is the most beautiful shock after going through boring pages. That's exactly what happened last week when we discovered Alana Kuznetsova has an editorial in the beauty section. A little story dedicated to perfumes and shot by Steve Hiett. We love how she makes the whole thing even cuter. It can look a tad kitsch at some point, we also see something more sophisticated - maybe in the way she handles the rather kitsch poses or background, fake outdoors as brilliantly as bathroom atmospheres. Usually we have to buy US magazines to find story like these and it's pretty nice to see a french one is able to cross the line as well. As most mags here are too shy to dare something like that or just go too far when it comes to kitsch, here it's simply perfect. Maybe it's a matter of getting the right photographer, stylist and model. And we know for sure Alana fits in. She didn't only caught our attention in its strongest way this season (check our runway review on her from last september), she also broke our hearts when we saw her in Vogue Paris calendar by Terry Richardson. Some girls can do it all without losing their personal touch.
