One year after: Lyoka
Lyoka Tyagnereva @ One (NY), Nathalie (Paris), FM (London)
It was less than one year ago. Januart 2008. Half to midnight. We were tired as one can be tired. Red eyes, itching and aching. Tossing and turning. But couldn't go off to bed without having a last Lyoka moment. Pictures by Reed and Rader, prelude to her f/w 08-09 season. Prelude to a very, very interesting year - we could say wonderful, we won't and we'll stick to the facts for now. So, we're almost one year later now. What happened to Lyoka ? She's been relentlessly appearing in our favorite magazines. Flair, Citizen K (ex-pres-sive), Vogue Italia (with the ice-cream, please), A4 (twice, including its current issue, shot by Ivana Kronengold) and QVEST. Twice too and twice by Tung Walsh. The five ones above are from the last QVEST we've bought. This fantastic issue with Bregje Heinen on the cover, in an editorial featuring make-up by Mel Arter. That's all and enough for the glossy pages. Lyoka in motion now. Runways. She embodies the perfect model for shows like Hussein Chalayan and Rodarte - she walked these two twice this year. She's also been spotted recently at Louise Goldin and Peter Jensen in London, Y-3, Yigal Azrouel and Vivienne Tam in NY, Bruno Pieters again in Paris. And Veronique Branquinho too. The more we think of it, the more we know Branquinho and Vandevorst were our biggest favorite of the season. Magnificent castings, atmospheres, stylings. Magnificent. Lyoka was just the perfect one at Veronique Branquinho. Perfect with that lipstick, in that light. Perfect.
