Had a chance to meet with Nando Esparza last month, at his place in New York and if you're not too messy to write down an address correctly (as we are), you will surely enjoy the little trip up to Amsterdam Avenue then enjoy the photographer's inspiration even more. From his way to work, the detail that striked us most was his will to uncover everything others seem to hide and the patient yet easy-going manner he has to shoot until he captures the greatest. Might sound a little basic for a statement but seeing it in action gives weight to such words and seeing the results confirms what your eyes have been witnessing for half an hour. One of Nando's latest work was done with a model coming from the same area as him, Arizona and the newcomer might have already caught the attention of whoever is watching closely the modeling news (for the fastest, even remembering her from her mother agency's pictures). Kelly Mittendorf is now signed with Marilyn in NYC and is enjoying her holiday break working on her book in town. If her features and overall look oscillates between obviously interesting and too extreme (we're not going to say who is right or wrong about it and the truth is probably in between), they perfectly works with Nando's current inspiration and the hardest part was literally choosing which moods we wanted to emphasize. Last but not least, unless you can afford a trip to New York next minute, pay a visit to Nando's blog. The best resume ever, in pictures and emotions.
