Less Talk, More Marilyn

Liu Wen @ Marilyn (NY)

Even if we were about to put it in the love and bookmark section, it's not so much about agency's communication and strategies this time. Of course, we have to pay attention and tribute again to these short polaroid-updates on Marilyn NY's blog just using one picture which quickly turns as a statement when you read the page. But what makes us love and bookmark again the page, is the recent moves in Liu Wen's career and how we relate to this evolution.

We started working with d'management in Milan quite long ago (in fashion standards) and one of the first collaboration was a short intro of Liu Wen. Might have been when she freshly signed to the agency and all we can remember is how thrilled we were -- first cooperation with the agency and first opportunity to hava a close look at Liu Wen's beauty. Now things went their way, always on a good slope for The Chameleon as Marilyn recently labeled her on their blog. Climax so far is easily the recent news that we might not even need to repeat. See the coverage here instead, it gives you a much more accurate idea of the impact.

Gracie Carvalho @ Marilyn (NY)

Most recent polaroid-update on Marilyn's blog was Gracie Carvalho, another FDIB favorite that shares this "universal appeal" with Liu Wen. Going from that BCBG moment in NY that led to a feature here to some more mainstream pieces of work, she built a book that looks both eclectic and expensive relying on almost every side of Gracie's potential and beauty-type. Having both girl in the same piece on the blog today naturally brings back the question of diversity in fashion. With all it takes of fake statements that have been done here and there or all the words that never turned into facts. And here comes another girl from the agency who deserves to be mentioned for her achievents: Arlenis Sosa. While many still keep talking and talking, Marilyn just made it happen the most natural and only possible way. The right (great) girls and the management they deserves. The rest is already history.
