Yasmin Heinz

Yasmin Heinz by Uli Holz

She's the make-up artist behind many editorials for magazines in Germany, France and UK. She's already been featured here for her collaboration with photographer Felix Lammers and hairdresser Wendy Iles. Here is an extended overview of her work:

What we 'd like to point out is her ability to give the make-up its own role whatever it has to be shiny or dark, colorful or natural-looking.
Sometimes make-up has to strengthen characteristics,
sometimes it's here to hide or to lighten some features,
sometimes bold, sometimes quite invisible,
sometimes it has to go the same way as the styling,
sometimes the opposite.
Looking at the editorials featured here, she perfectly feels these roles make-up has to play.
Beauty editor for Wig, Tush, Booklet, she's also working for Vorn, Sunday Times, i-D and for Financial Times Magazine (topic on London Royal Opera Ballet, shot by Zanna).

She's working very often with Karin Berndl, including some striking stories for Booklet. One topic on Louis Mariette, designer to watch for (hats, hats, hats ! see article on GoSee.de) and another one called La Boum.

Karin was nominated for an award in the book of the  Association of Photographers in the UK with some of these pictures,  and they had a big exhibition in London in Brick Lane Gallery.
Other collaborations include this editorial from Tush.

Among the people that have been involved in the same projects as her, we've noticed Spela Lenarcic, style editor in Tush and Dedicated. She was a part of the team gathering Yasmin, Felix Lammers and Wendy Iles. Then people working for Wig magazine beginning with Darren Knight, fashion editor. The editorial for Wig was shot by Crena Watson and Yasmin also modeled in it. Set designer of the story is the famous Ute Bergk, also working a lot for Hollywood as a film set designer (latest James Bond, next Batman and much, much more).

Other people she works or worked with include hairdresser Sam McKnight (www.premier-agency.com) and Chihiro Yono, stylist who is the assistant of Marko Matysik, the contribution editor of Vogue Nippon and China, and also the fashion editor of Big Magazine. Yasmin is working with Chihiro on her two editorials for Booklet with Peter Zownir and Karin Berndl.
Without forgetting she was working with Pat McGrath's team for Dior and John Galliano's runway shows until she stopped a few seasons ago. She also worked for other designers like Amanda Wakeley.

Last collaboration we want to highlight is her work with photographer Rankin (soon to be featured here) on a book.
