New York Models f/w 08-09
It's time for NY agencies to release their latest show packages, already for fall/winter 08-09. For Supreme, Fusion and last but not least New York Models, the cards are now on the table. With its amount of surprises, as always. The models we didn't expect to see and the one we expected some showcards. From the newest and the freshest to the most outstanding come-back (think Sunniva), you have everything, every possible kind of career you can find in the fashion industry. If Fusion did an impressive start with their show package last season, it doesn't seem the put as much effort in their brand new one. Where are Theresa Kosminksi and Diana Toma ? Ditto on the fantastic design of the previous set ? Their men's board grew faster and faster, the women's one just seems petrified right now. We want more ! At least we still have Laura Selfridge there.
Supreme followed its september mood: black and white pictures, very editorial. That was great, not suprising but proved again the strength of the agency's image and the non-stop creativity of Paul Rowland & Co.
The real surprise was from New York Model Management. If their previous design for s/s 08 was more than attractive, this time they went a step ahead. And beyond, reaching what I would call the epitome of showcards. It's very clean, very clear, easy to remember yet the aesthetics have been carefully created by using polaroids. I always think polaroids are a model's best passport and it's just so true in this case. You see them natural, as beautiful as they really are or as they are for real. The contrast with some others' agencies choices quickly made the difference and feedback has been fantastic since day one. Here are our girls of the season from NYMM package !
The Favorites...

From Arina still being our all-time wild-card and Giedre, one of the initial girls featured here to have her moment since... to Camille, our new muse and Cate who's performance at Prada just brought her on the map faster than the speed of light, our four favorite of the season at New York Models have all some different profiles and are at different steps of different career. There are high expectations for some of them, confirmation to follow for another and we keep our fingers crossed for you know who. If you don't know, well NY is in less than two weeks from now...

The next four are on the right way to count among our favorites soon. And for different reasons. Sarah caught our eyes last season with her first showcard, interest for her has is on a non-stop rise since. Sam's abilities to bare all the looks - only based on tests and polas, but wow! - have quickly written her name on our list since we first heard of her. That was the same day as Camille, can't forget it. Then come two girls that will always be related to Paris in our minds, Kinee that impressed us in backstage and Nadine who's just graced L'Officiel cover two times a year. Eyes wide opened on them !
The intriguing duet...

They are definitely the two who captured our attention in the package. The best of both worlds... Natalia from Siberia, Patricia from Brazil. A dark brunette and a strawberry-blond lady with that little mix of twisted innocence and melancholy we adore. Our feelings towards this duet are somewhere between the dark-horses and the new sensations. We'll see but we can already expect...

We always fall for timeless beauties and Katya is one of this kind. The same kind of odd crush we had for Ol'ha Honchar two seasons ago. Mysterious eyes and captivating expressions...
That's all for now but we're not going to stop here. Wait for our wish-list for NY f/w 08-09 to appear soon... today, tomorrow will be too late !
