The undercover fortunetellers' pick: Kathleen
Kathleen Burbridge @ One (NY)
We're not reading in the tea leaves as we're buying ready-made mint-flavored tea. Otherwise we would never know where our inside fortunetellers could lead us. Well, we'll never now as we stick to the supermarket's cheap tea bags. The crystal ball will wait, Kathleen Burbridge won't. We've been waiting eagerly to drop a few lines on her and you can see here a good reason to do it now. If we hadn't already fallen for her before, this picture (or pictures, it's up to your eyes) by James Mountford would be a good reason. Be sure to read the two words above the picture (the two with the "&" in the middle) and if you don't find the bookshop, the wheels under your chair will drive you there. Neon lights are shining bright tonight as they are no streetlights in the countryside. Tomorrow back in town. Until then we've got enough time to think again about Kathleen. We loved her at Rad Hourani and Aminaka Wilmont, we loved her work with Chadwick Tyler and more than all we love how she always leaves the impression there is a hidden part still waiting to be unveiled. As if the best is still to come. We can call it potential, after all, as we're no (official) fortunetellers.
