The ballad of the end of the world (syrupy symphony)
Skye Stracke @ Viva (Paris), Viva (London), Why Not (Milan), DNA (NY)
Ellen Von Unwerth was our last topic yesterday evening before drowning in champagne and sailing on a slice of mozzarella (or on a pretzel). It might have turned into an inspiration overnight as one of our first thougts on this odd morning was dedicated to her story in Dazed & Confused featuring Skye Stracke. It's ten o'clock at nine and everything seems to go faster today, walking across the streets under the pale sunlight and lonely clouds has a taste of the end of the world (provided we can imagine how it could be). It's not frightening or not too much creepy, it's simply strange.
Skye seems to find her place in this atmosphere, to fit this quiet crazy mood surrounded by leopard printed outfits and backgrounds. Like a litany or a overstated pleonasm. A visual delight based on fake contrasts and true kicks, screaming or moaning how beauty is bizarre. Skye's runway career looks (sounds?) the same and it takes three of our favorite castings to understand it: Chanel, Antonio Marras and House of Holland. Best samples of Ms. Stracke's soft power to pull out unusual runway moment like rabbits out of a hat. Slow songs always seems to shout their whispers when they're blended with power.
