Nataliya !
After some great surprises last couture fashion week, Nataliya Piro does editorial after editorial for mags like UK Marie-Claire, Vanity Fair Italy and Madame in Germany. We've met her after Jefen and in Martin Grant backstage in Paris last week and were just stunned by another aspect of this incredible model... She's simply as stylish as it's possible to be. No fancy items, flashy tights or fashion-forward shoes, just a well-done combination, a delicate way to mix clothes that suits her perfectly. Sometimes the edginess just doesn't come from edgy clothes but from a fine idea of what is going to work well on yourself. It could be a description of Nataliya's style. She was wearing a long flower-printed black dress and a long black coat with a small bag saying "I love NY". No outsanding pieces but all that put together was exactly what her silhouette and attitude needs. I was simply stunned.
Another thing that you can't avoid while seeing runway after runway is the remarkable differences between models walks. You quickly notice who's trying too hard and who's got a very personal way to move (Alison Nix's was one of my absolute favorite, especially when she told us in backstage that she just don't know how to walk). Nataliya's walk is very graceful, I've noticed it a few seasons ago, at her beginings. Nothing particurarly striking, simply a natural elegance. In an iterview in Odessa Passage, she told that when she went first to her mother agency, people weren't satisfied of her walk and that she would have to learn it. I still think her walk is 100 percent her own, though. But most striking think with her runway performances is when the show is about to end. Nataliya always have that little unexpected smile, the same one that makes me notice her at Eley Kishimoto s/s 06.
Among all the models I've met during Paris f/w 07-08 fashion week, I was glad to notice that my all-time beloved Nataliya remains unique: the same vibe that broke my heart nearly two years ago now.

Besides all the editorials I've mentioned above, Nataliya still gets campaigns as well. Second time she does Satellite Paris, a jewelry brand and striking debuts for Mauro Grifoni, an Italian ready-to-wear label. It's absolutely stunning how she prints her own style on ad campaigns. A awesome alchemy of akward tenderness and natural grace with that touch of delicate sensuality. All has been said !
